I've never had an Automatic car and I'm not sure if a new 300+bhp 5dr Manual car is available on sale anymore so struggling really for ideas.

Ah that's a shame, is there a Giulia 2.0T with a manual box?

Nothing 5dr. Stelvio obviously 5dr but not manual.

Megane RS? (Though that’s rounding up to 300 iirc). Similarly, Focus ST?

Sad if all cars of that power will be auto.

When did you get that? 8-)
Not mine ! It’s the same friend who I helped with the white one the other day. He has a bit of a Lotus problem.

Ah - I missed that.

I had a thing for the ExcelSE (that was spawned from these) back in the day.

Whilst I was lusting after them, a mates dad got one brand new. Was sooo jealous. Mates younger brother was going through a wild streak at the time (his final year) and took it to school a couple of times when his dad was away - had just passed his test at 17 and was completely uninsured.

Probably not that appealing after an M2 anyway, but the outgoing 340i and 440i were available as manuals - though a check on Auto Trader reveals it's just the 2dr 440i and saloon 340i which ever seem to have been sold with a manual box. You might, just might, find a nearly new manual 440i Gran Coupe in stock somewhere, though they're not available to spec on the configurator as new now. This is about the closest thing I can find to your criteria; a 2018 340i manual saloon: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified ... 0173415127

Currently in the qashqai broken down a cpl of miles from home after the school run drop. 4hrs and counting for mr RAC, so far...

It's an odd one, no probs at all first thing, then spluttering/misfiring/smoking when started after school run, now wont start at all. No codes. Assume fuel delivery although stuck egr also a poss according to interweb.

Even if it turns out a simple fix I think it's the end for the qq as we need two vaguely reliable cars.

It feels a bit grown up but I've ordered a M340i Touring.

There aren't any to test drive so gone out on a limb but the normal G20 3 series feels grand.

I hope I don't change my mind during the 16 week wait 😂

After keeping me waiting an hour because they “forgot” it was booked for 10am not 11am, and then arguing for with me about whether the driver’s seat needs to be adjustable (it doesn’t), The Compact has a fresh MOT with just one advisory, for a slightly discoloured indicator. Pfft.

Another year of cheap motorsport coming up !

Friend of mine has a 1.2Qashqai, only couple years old but needed a new engine recently. Mate less than impressed with these modern small turbo petrol cars..

Yeah the 1.2 petrol has an even worserer rep than the 1.5 diesel. Now at the 5hr mark and still a no show. Picking my daughter back up from school in 30mins. What a waste of a day. I'm sure the 30 quid or whatever derisory compo offer is made will fix that.

Pants. My dad has the 1.2 in his QQ. He's had it just shy of two years, from new. Fingers crossed it won't give him issues.

Nothing just colour (Portimau Blue) and interior (Mocha Leather with Blue stitching) they are really well specced in the UK as standard. Adaptive Dampers, Locking Rear Diff, Live Pro Nav, Pro Stereo, Heated Electric Memory Sports Seats and so on.

There are no stock cars as i dont think people buy estates anymore.

EGR was stuck, RAC fella gave it some impact calibration and off we went. Have cleaned it out since getting back but not a lot in there tbh, so could be the EGR motor on the way out. Have left my own impact tool in the car for the now. Might all be warning signs to move it on though, as much as I take the mickey out of people who do that for the sake of a £100 part. Not sure how hard to push a complaint with RAC as nearly 6 hours is pretty slow, for something that took 10 mins to solve.
