Your fleet running reports

Re: Your fleet running reports
I'm guessing insurance is a big chunk of that? Also, doesn't everyone pay tax monthly now? /s
£971 for insurance? Are you not telling us youve a DD and 12 points tallyspeedingfine wrote: ↑Sat Nov 20, 2021 7:32 pm
Yes, the insurance was £971 and I did 2 years tracker subs at once as it works out cheaper in the long run. Tax is cheaper to buy by the year too, so as you can tell I’m very sensible with money really!
Re: Your fleet running reports
I pay VED annually too, fuck paying more taxes than necessary
How about not having a sig at all?

Broccers, you've managed to completely Barry that quote.
But £971 does seem high? Paul's either a maniac or lives in the ghetto...I've not paid more than £600 on anything since I was 25!

Not sure how old Paul is but I've heard from the farmer that insurance for performance cars goes up massively once you're over 70.

I’m fairly sensible and live in a reasonably pleasant area. The car is always garaged too. It’s a Porsche specialist firm and the policy includes things like track days, and also let’s you choose your repairer in the event of any damage. FWIW everyone you deal with seems really pleasant, and if you have occasion to meet them looks like a super model!

I mean, I'm still with A-Plan despite not being cheapest because of their flexibility and ease to deal with, so I can see where you're coming from.PaulJ wrote: ↑Sun Nov 21, 2021 8:50 pm I’m fairly sensible and live in a reasonably pleasant area. And do Boxsters need fixing? I thought they and the Cayman were pretty much as good as it gets in that sector
If you want a challenge, fix the 4C

With any insurer you can choose who repairs - you may waive your right to an insurer supplied courtesy car.PaulJ wrote: ↑Sun Nov 21, 2021 8:50 pmI’m fairly sensible and live in a reasonably pleasant area. Try getting a quote for the car parked on your drive every night too.

I actually made a claim about 12 years ago. They offered me a BMW courtesy car which I rejected in case anyone I knew saw me driving an automatic. They immediately sourced me a Cooper S to use, and apologised for the rather ‘boy racer’ colour scheme. Not cheap premiums, but faultless service.

Pleasingly only the clutch needed doing, DMF was fine. The release bearing started squealing and the pedal was heading to the floor on the ten mile journey, wasn't entirely sure I was going to make itspeedingfine wrote: ↑Sat Nov 20, 2021 7:32 pmCan't not post as it's entertaining, clutch starting to go already Been quoted £600 from a clutch centre for the clutch and the dual mass flywheel, which means the car owes me £1100. I'll go for it as I love the car, fingers crossed it's not good money after bad!speedingfine wrote: ↑Thu Nov 04, 2021 12:17 pm Old addition to the fleet - 2003 Citroen C5 110 HDI. One owner from new complete with beaded seat covers. It's in great condition and no issues in the MOT history, but they kept no history whatsoever and the fella said he serviced it himself
Only problem I can see so far is the clutch is biting high, but no actual slipping. Yet. I appreciate this may eventually scrap the car, but as I paid £500 I can live with this
Good to be back in a shonky French car, it's a lot more comfortable than the BX was
£350 and they did it same day. I shall now be praying to the French car Gods that this is the last of it for a while. I will be fitting a new set of wiper blades tonight as a peace offering to them
Re: Your fleet running reports
Quite pleased with my fuel economy since switching to smaller wheels and winter tyres:
Re: Your fleet running reports
I was averaging about 43-44mpg before, could eke out up to 47mpg on one journey. But last night's was a bit trafficked hence the slightly slow average speed, so not even a special economy run. Not bad for a 1950kg 4wd estate.

Short term, i.e. for the journey shown - 70 miles.
