I’m not even a fan of the 8 as whilst it looks good for a BMW it isn’t a patch on other coupes.

Also, I don’t know what’s worse - the BMW service person drove the X5 out (which was in for an alternator recall) and didn’t notice the crazy idle which I could hear 100 yards away in my Defender, and the mechanics didn’t pick up on it either as it was going out the workshop. Turns out they forgot to reconnect the boost pipe. Their work isn’t even worth peanuts.

Someone on one of the forums I'm on was complaining about their new m3 hooting and whistling and chuffing and all sorts of odd noises after a service.

Turns out they hadn't connected the intake pipe back to the airbox.

And people wonder why I do stuff on my cars myself

Whenever I visit the BMW/Mercedes independent that we take cars to I make sure I’m free for a good while as the mechanic always inevitably goes into a 30 minute rant over how shit the main dealer work is. Last time it was about how they don’t even know what grease is anymore

Always park next to the decent cars when shopping. Awesome looking cars, and look very, very long. Unfortunately didn't get to hear it....

No pictures as ever but I saw a nice 306 Rallye yesterday when I was wandering. Also saw a rough looking 2.8i Capri which sounded pretty healthy.

Saw Robert Carlyle in a shop as well. He's not a car though.

Saw Starbug (no photos I'm afraid).

Again, technically not a car, but a decent sized model of Starbug from Red Dwarf. The AA are doing a TV ad campaign with the Red Dwarf bunch at the moment, and I saw Starbug 1 on the back of an AA flatbad on the M25 at about 10:30 this morning. Some Google'ing suggests it's probably this one:

Wasn't helped by the private plate "OO19CEO" either.
Spotted the same lump earlier. It needs a fake taxi sticker.
