Saw a couple of things you don't see that often recently.

MG ZT 260 I still want one of these even though they're objectively a bit shit.

Fiat Coupe Turbo, looked very tidy. The Fiat Coupe has gone through it's phase of looking dated and looks pretty cool again imo.

Honda Accord Type R. Guy had painted the wheels bright purple, which I liked .

Driving through London today I saw a few exciting cars:

Original Fiat 500 - looked like it could fit in the glove box of the current one

Volvo 145 in the correct 70s dirty pumpkin orange, with period roof rack

W109 coupe looking amazing in silver

W116 S class

R107 SL looking like it had led a hard life.

I wish I knew if it was a 105 or a 130, just because I wish I did.

Those Integrale wheels are absolutely perfect for it.

As it is LHD I am going to suggest it is probably a Fiat Ritmo instead. ;)

I am also going to suggest to JL that it is a 130TC. Because I want it to be.

When I had my rusty old (85bhp) Superstrada I lusted strongly for a new 105TC that lived locally. A 130TC was always just a dream, but SO much cooler to me than a Golf GTi / XR3i.... and notably quicker too. I could never get out of my head though that 5th was geared to 18.something mph/1000rpm though (from memory - it was defo below 20) - the mag reviews all commented on that (and the carb-driven thirst) at the time.

I think the Superstrada was only 920kg. With my (unplanned) iron-oxide based weight saving regime, mine was probably less than 900. :?

Those Integrale wheels look phenomenal on it, and being 15’s I am sure they open up tyre choices. (Oem was the piddly ubiquitous 185/60/14).

Mik gets it 8-)

The 130TC was super-cool wasn't it, mainly because of those thirsty carbs rather than that new-fangled fuel injection nonsense. It was also quick from memory!

MIC on a couple of points here. A Rimto 130TC Abarth, and it is way more desirable than its peers of the period. This one in particular is epic.

Looks cool, but I’m more impressed with the matching kids car on top of real car... I wonder if it has matching wheels!? Also, can you steer the whole ensemble from up there!? 🤣

 hadn't even spotted that. +1 for loving the Strada epicness and for the memories of them as a kid.

Used to see them now and again, not seen a Tam or T350 in a long time. My Lotus specialist, who also did TVR, said he saw less and less of his regulars because many of them were using them far less to maintain values, or even mothballing them.

:P

An old friend had these, went through the 105TC, then onto the 130. To be perfectly honest, he had a fair few issues with it but the 130 in particular did sound pretty rorty.

After that he had a Lancia Delta HF turbo which I really liked and was pretty reliable. Was a bit quicker than the 130 ( although I’m not sure that ever ran 100% ). We had some great coastie races with all of them 8-)

That one pictured above does look nice

I'm sure I spent nearly as much time underneath mine as i did in the driving seat. :? It was my Superstrada that suffered gearbox bearing collapse, which caused sufficienr swarf that the 1st gear selector bush effectively weld itself onto the shaft - inadvertently selecting 1st whilst I was already in 5th doing 80mph. Gearboxes dont really like being in two different gears simultaneously. That was messy, :?

Coastie races sound like fun. Outrun?

It has an Abarth badge on the front grille so unless the owner is a twat, it’s a 130. And a twat would probably have put an HF elephant badge on, so I think we’re safe.

720s while stood at the bus stop. Credit where it’s due - it looked great in a bold colour scheme.

Noise somewhat synthetic and underwhelming as with all McLarens. It did get me browsing second hand 650s though

I spotted a Senna parked outside a house in Ombersley a couple of weeks ago. It's quite nice seeing such a stupid car in a normal context, but it still looked stupid.
