Teh Spotted Thread
Re: Teh Spotted Thread
Things I've seen today:
An Astra Mk2 GTE wagon (possibly an engine swop into a Mk2 wagon shell?)
Mk3 Cavalier - nothing special, just a cooking 1.6 on an N plate.
So a proper retro Vauxhall day it would seem.

The original wheels on this looked so tiny compared to what they're usually muppeted with now days:
another chaser with added surf:
Toyota Crown Athlete - rwd 3.5 v6. The generation before this could have a 1jzgte 2.5 turbo, like the chasers above, and the model after had the option of a 4.6 v8.

I’m liking the 914 and whatever the Plymouth is.
Re: Teh Spotted Thread
Spotted on the M5 this morning: two traffic officer cars. Nothing noteworthy about that, except:
- One was a new Toyota Landcruiser (the UK model); most are Shoguns and I've seen a few new shape Discoveries but the Land Cruiser was a first. Take that, Orange Cola
- One was a Shogun with a flat tyre. Fortunately for him there was a permanent hard shoulder at that point; I hope he feeds back how grateful he was for the existence of a hard shoulder rather than it being either a permanent running lane or an occasional managed running lane. What struck me as odd was that the bloke wasn't changing the wheel. All Shoguns have a spare mounted on the tailgate. Waiting for the AA?

Spotted this evening on the M5:
- 7 unmarked police vehicles in high speed convoy with blues going: a 64 plate RS6, a 60 plate E63 AMG wagon, a 63 plate E63 AMG wagon, an ML63 AMG, a silver Vito van and two Passat estates. Fascinating selection of vehicles; I imagine they wouldn’t have been particularly interested in stopping anyone for speeding.
- an Alfa SZ. I think it was this one: https://www.classicdriver.com/en/car/al ... 992/525241 - certainly had a K###DTM plate.

Re: Teh Spotted Thread
Could've been either diplomatic service or maybe even police driver training?
I remember seeing a 911 with blues many many years ago late on the M4 between junctions 12 and 13. I was just passing someone sitting in late 2 in lane 3 (typically lane 1 was empty). The 911 sat about 100m behind me, gave a quick flash of its blues as I cleared the car I was passing, then when I pulled in it absolutely flew past me like I was standing still. Deeply impressive turn of acceleration.

They were, I think, special ops - I've found a few references to them online:

Based on the location I spotted them and where they've been seen, they could be SAS-related.

Haven’t seen one for years, assume they’ve all rusted away or blown up.
Cheers, Harry
Re: Teh Spotted Thread
£2000 for the car, £17,195 for the white background.
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Teh Spotted Thread
My mate in the car trade would say exactly that and then "go and find another one"DeskJockey wrote: ↑Fri Jul 31, 2020 5:42 pmThat much!Broccers wrote: ↑Fri Jul 31, 2020 5:40 pm https://www.kgfclassiccars.co.uk/vehicles/21499/

Re: Teh Spotted Thread
I saw a new RR SUV thing yesterday in Bridgnorth.
It looked terrible, it makes the Bentayga look like a subtle classy vehicle. They’ve really messed up the styling from videos I’d seen but in person it was far worse.
Dave!

Re: Teh Spotted Thread
Seen 4 DBXs in 3 days. They look pretty inoffensive compared to many new cars. Probably a nice car for sub £30k once they get there in a few years.

Re: Teh Spotted Thread
Nice MK2 Golf GTI with a phat zorst cruising around town tonight, driver looked to be my age, baseball cap and rolly out the window.
No banging choonz though, garbage, terrible, 0/10.
