Southern Meet?
Re: Southern Meet?
Aylesbury, eh? You missed my presence in the route-finding?

Ian, I have a nice shot of you leaving the pub carpark if you're happy me posting one up with you in?
A few more arty ones to follow. Lots of prancing horses.

Re: Southern Meet?
Route finding worked well. After meandering through Wantage whilst trying to avoid cyclists I found the b-road out of it that I was looking for. Then we wiggled back up to Lambourn and then headed off down another b-road that wasn't the one I was thinking of but was also pretty good.
I didn't find the road across that ends up at Hackpen Hill so we bypassed that stopping point - looking on the bigger screen of my laptop that one was the road from Malborough, and we were further north than that when we decided getting straight to the pub would be a good idea.

Re: Southern Meet?
I am rather sunburnt today from sitting outside that pub ! Nice day out, good to meet people at last. Thanks to Jobbo for instigating (and then dropping out), and Jon for leading us on the day.
We'll have to do something similar again when Duncs & GG are fixed.

Yes, sorry for not being there - it was my wife's birthday last week and it turned out the celebrations would have to be delayed to the weekend due to losing one of the cats last Monday. I hate being flaky but hope you'll understand. Would have been good to say hello to you in the flesh, Ian and Steve.

Re: Southern Meet?
I don't mind Jon (if it's a good pic, that is!).
I was just looking for a target for next time, it'd be good if we could end up somewhere with an automotive slant... it's not easy though; Ariel is too far west, Beaulieu is do-able maybe, like-wise Bicester Heritage, Brooklands isn't the best area to drive around. Any other ideas?.. Or do we just go to Bombay Sapphire's Distillery in Laverstock, and Beany can pick us up in his Transit?

I need to visit that at some point soon with my family so we can see the Napier-Railton. It was designed by one of Kathryn's relatives and holds the lap record at Brooklands.IanF wrote: ↑Mon Jul 23, 2018 11:43 am I don't mind Jon (if it's a good pic, that is!).

There's Gaydon, handy for the M40 and some reasonable roads as well.

I don't mind visiting Gaydon, it would be very appropriate for my car !

Haynes Motor Museum too far west? I’ve never been.

Re: Southern Meet?
Funny you say that - on the overhead one I did photoshop out quite a bit of dirt on the bonnet! (and that’s actually two shots combined, as it happens)

Would look good in B&W I think.
Re: Southern Meet?
Nice pics.
I think the cries of Gaydon after the picture of Ian in his car were a bit unneccessary though guys.
