Reminded me of the hire Corsa I had when I sold my M3 - and the 1k rpm to redline in 3rd thread!

Car for Mini Mike
Re: Car for Mini Mike
Oh he's definitely a petrol head, but seems quite happy with the fact he just needs something cheap and reliable for a few years until he gets some experience and no claims etc.
Apparently I just "see a car I like and go and buy it without consulting anyone else", so that's me told.
His girlfriend has a 1.4 diesel Corsa and this petrol one feels nippier... That's me on the insurance now so I'll take it for a drive tonight and see how it drives.
Came with "no service history" but has been looked after.
I found the service book in a wee tray under the seat. Its got a FSH after all.
Cheers,
Mike.

The thing I was proud of her for doing was checking for oil in the driveway. After the Boxster and 996, that's the acid test for car buying for us going forward.

Re: Car for Mini Mike
The oil was from a couple of undiagnosed leaks which needed more investigation with the engine out. It was the final straw as I just CBA with all that hassle and expense on top of the other bits and pieces needing done.Sundayjumper wrote: ↑Wed Jul 20, 2022 4:15 pmRMS ? They're famous for it. My 996 has been damp for years, it's probably just a matter of time before it lets go properly.
