I’ve been driving my dads Tiguan tonight. Just couldn’t get comfy with the seating position. I had considered a Tiguan against the X5 but the one I looked at had the leather sports seats that I had in the golf R so would probably have been better.

No.
What’s scary is that for a similar age/mileage there’s probably not much between them in price. Tiguans are way too expensive used.

£4k less for the Tiguan with the twin turbo 240bhp diesel.

X3 tow payload = 2000kg
Tiguan tow payload = 2400kg
X5 standard tow payload = 2700kg
My one with the factory tow kit fitted = 3500kg

Our Enclosed trailers weigh 1000kg empty plus 980kg of mini plus wheels, spares and spare engine - 2200kg ish. X3 no use. Tiguan would be ok ish.

It’s a shocker of diamond proportions.

I have failed on the engine part I know. 6 bangers and 460 lb/ft is too much.
