We have a 3.6 TDV8. It's great, but if you can stretch budget then get the 4.4, it's just better.
3.6 remaps to about 320hp by all accounts and doesn;t have dpf woes.
I bought at the bottom of the market as our kids are young (4 and 2) and will ruin something nice

We looked at a disco 4 and decided it was too utilitarian for our daily family bus.
Something not mentioned in this thread is maintenance costs - be prepared for some eyewatering bills.

Love ours despite though, its a lovely place to be.
