I watched SeenThroughGlass’s high mileage 997 GT3 video recently, it reminded why I never bothered with most of the ‘amateurs’. I’m sure he’s a nice chap and good to talk cars with in real life, but this 997 GT3 video was just 10 minutes of nothing. Just an excited puppy driving a great car.KiwiDave wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 11:05 pm As an aside, I also watched the MrJWW vid - quite stark how little you actually learn about the car compared to from actual journos like Catchpole, Frankel and Harris. I have to assume that's because he just doesn't know enough to be able to describe it back to camera? Or that's not what his audience wants? Either way, it's solidified my respect for the OG journos.
New 992 GT3
Re: New 992 GT3
Not had a chance to watch any of the videos yet but I like its look. It’s the most ‘RS’ non-RS GT3; not sure if that’s a good thing though.
Re: New 992 GT3
I am not in any way spending significant amounts of time spending seeking out every inch of writing I can find about the 992 GT3 Touring at all honest.
Yet, there seems to be considerable commentary about the Touring having the same spring rates therefore being a bit shit for a road car, and then I read EVO's review here clicky and their verdict seems to be different.
For the first time ever I think, I'm holding on for Harris' verdict. I don't normally attribute virtual ticks of 'yes this is the one the drivers really want' to one sole person, but my normal trusted sources appear to be at odds with their opinion.
My wallet full of virtual cash is twitchy.

Re: New 992 GT3
Deviating from the topic - I passed a 992 Turbo (S?) going the other way last night on a relatively narrow A-road. It looked enormous.

Re: New 992 GT3
They sure do, not only are they just plain bigger in every dimension, the rake of the front and rear screens has elogated the cabin a lot along with the doors are pushed out too removing some of the coke bottle of the older 993 generation.
Re: New 992 GT3
Doesn't seem to be as much of an issue as elsewhere here I think. Certainly not heard the horror stories of the US or UK. My virtual order is safe in my virtual reality world...
I have been thinking this. Looks more restrained and has a nicer ass. Thought I do like the new nose on the 992 more.
Re: New 992 GT3
Saw it at goodwood, still and 991.2 Manuel for me.
Re: New 992 GT3
I read somewhere the 991's are going for about the same price as the new one
