Classy.

Imagea

This has got a headlining saggier than an old man's gusset but the correct number of cylinders.

Thats an X300 so no.

I've found a X308 3.2 XJ8 Soveriegn on facebook that I'm on the cusp of taking a punt on. Spoke to the bloke on the phone and apart from the usual slightly saggy headlining (actually not that bad) it looks very tidy.

He's sent me a load more pics of the interior, it's nice and clean. Drivers seat isn't fucked. Needs a pair (probably a set in reality) of tyres but £1500 is about £400 under what most everything else that isn't a basket case is going for. MOT history doesn't suggest it's a bag of rot either.

And Lincoln is a lot closer than Glasgow :p

So I went to Lincoln today with £1500 and came home with this.

It’s tremendously unsuitable but IDGAF. 2.5 hours home in wafty comfort was ace. Spent 3 hours cleaning it mostly inside because it’s a bit grubby in places, but pending some decent leather cleaner it’s coming up nice already.

More tomorrow.

I'm not familiar with specs, are they standard/original wheels?
Sounds like a good way to spend £1500 so far 8-)

Yeah they’re ‘Celtic’ 17” option wheels. On P6000s which are a bit worn at the edges on the front.

Ac needs a regas and a couple of the door cards are loose at the bottom. Easy enough to sort out I expect.

The number of barges in the forum now surely says something about our demographic. Forum trip to Dignitas next year ??

This! If I didn’t need an estate car......

Looks lovely and for £1500, can’t argue with that!

Walter Mitty! Tim has bought an imaginary XJ - we all know this isn’t possible.
