The OM606 is an amazing engine. Lots of power and not huge amounts of torque, lives to Rev, very reliable and super strong crank.

Some numbers people band about are pretty fanciful but the king of these is the Swedes.

I must admit I would be tempted to map mine as it is an early 212 so only 231bhp. Silly torque mind but a stage 1 might get it up in line with later models.

Stuck in my mind because of the owner's fanciful claim it would run to 8000rpm. Er... :lol: Just be happy with 562bhp on the rollers FFS.

Yeah, some of those figures are just a joke. Also the sustained load numbers will be small unless they find magic pistons.

There are a few people making good power with barely any smoke aswell as smoke does not equal poke as they like to say.

I always take roller figures with a very big pinch of salt, its how quick they are on the road/track that matters.
