Wot he said.

This thread depresses me as I'm stuck with a range of poor choices.

My e46 330i was a competent all rounder with a reasonable turn of speed but not special at all.
To suggest that the 166 was best at anything apart from making a trouser tenting noise is ridiculous.
The 1977 911 I drove was too brief to get any meaningful opinion on.
Kathryn's MX5s were a lot of fun but gutless.
Of the forumites cars I've driven, Jobbos old Boxster was like a 2 seat e46. It was competent, reasonably fun but utterly lacking in Special.
Mattys 147 GTA Autodelta was much more fun but spoiled by the stupid choices the previous owner had made regarding the suspension.

If I'm forced to pick one, it would probably be the MX5s. The performance was more accessable, they were more communicative and surprisingly resilient to damage after being run off the M5 and down the embankment.

Those 918 wheels look like a load of little penises.

You can't un-see it.

Well, that’s not too shabby is it! Never driven an F1?

For some bizarre reason, I still think that Morgan three-wheeler would be a hilarious experience, but I’ve built it up in my head so much, I’m now afraid to try a real one... 🤔

I’d say my best car would either be my first car, an Austin Metro; because it was my first car and because I had lots of sex in it, or, in the spirit of the question, probably the Formula Renault I drove at Thruxton - simplicity, noise and all its mechanical gubbins on display; it was ace!
Cheers,

Ian

P1 is an engineering masterpiece but personally find the 675LT a more engaging car to drive. Challenge with the P1 is you need to be on a race track to get it to really come alive.

How did you get on with your mates with the TVS1900 upgrade?

I need answers.
Can't answer that yet unfortunately; We ended up not meeting up. I may be meeting him this morning and going for lunch if we can fit it around work.

I'll definitely sort it soon and report back.

Had a fun track day today. Couple of hours each way and lots of laps with instructors.
