Don’t think the rear wing works aesthetically on the Sport350, but otherwise yes.

Filling the interior with helium and providing a driver snorkel (aka Drorkel) never really caught on.

(possibly 'cos I don't really get the general fanboyism around the various lineage of VW Golfs) This may actually annoy me more than all the supercar speculators that ruin perfectly driveable cars and (unwittingly or otherwise) turn them into ornaments.

Buy a Golf GTi. A hot hatch version of a humdrum family hatchback. A workhorse. A reliable and practical daily driver.

Then barely drive it. :roll:

The late mk2 5dr 8v was heavier and less responsive with the later fuel injection, I understand, so set things up nicely for the mk3 and mk4 GTIs :lol:

Even for 168k miles the paint on that is fucked! The bonnet looks like the milky way.

My real concern would be that someone that runs up that kind of mileage without getting a partial respray is clearly not one to spend money where it can be avoided.

Will be interesting to see how much it will go for. 30-40k mile 997 gt3s are £65k upwards.

This will need 10-15k worth of engine rebuild and 5-7k worth of paint in the next few years (well, it needs the paint now) That's a net £45k ish car skirting around the issue of whether you'd ever be able to sell it. On that basis I'd pay sub £40k but I'm sure people will bid higher.

Front bumper is grazed too but I would say it’s not bad for the mileage and means it’s unlikely to have hidden accident damage which is more likely with such a car.
If it’s going to be used on lots of track days then repainting it will be a bit pointless unless you go all in and PPF it too.

I still wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole :lol:
How about not having a sig at all?

I’d rather see a car with wear that matches it’s age ( as long as it’s not going rusty ) than one that gets a front end blow over every 10k miles like some seem to.

Standard Porsche dealer work before sale; I’ve no doubt the fact that virtually every 911 has had a front end respray is great for hiding unsavoury history 😄

Not sure I’d consider doing a respray every other service to be essential maintenance though, nor lack of it to be evidence of neglect. And I’d rather have a high-miler than a London-dwelling car which has done 1/4 the miles but has the same number of operating hours.

ETA: now I’ve read the PH thread, I wouldn’t be interested in this particular car. Bought by bloke in London and moved on within a year, reference to having spent a lot... I’d buy a car like this from the owner who did the mileage but not so keen when it’s gone through a few more pairs of hands.

And the price has to be right compared to lower mileage examples; they may not cost more to run but they will always be easier to sell.
