WBAC value
WBAC value
For fun - check out their valuation and see if its anywhere near what you would sell your car for.

Boxster is a grand over what I bought it for currently.

Re: WBAC value
£8240 for mine, so under what I think it would go for by a couple of grand.
Cheers,

Re: WBAC value
Mike, our mini is 4k less. Reckon they dont like higher miles cars,
Re: WBAC value
Interestingly the WBAC quotes when we were selling both our Disco3 and Disco4 were identical to the trade-in offered by the stealership. Almost as if the dealership were using WBAC as the source of their offer

Megane. Today on WBAC: £6000 with FSH. Sold in July for £8000.
Fabia (!) Today on WBAC: £1055, not that they'd give me that. Bought for £1900. Probably £1500 now as it's got a few more bumps on it.

Re: WBAC value
I think you're right about the high mileage stuff. I've used them twice before and their valuations were better than trade-in and on one occasion also went up once they'd inspected the car.

Re: WBAC value
I've checked this on and off and it was always pretty close to market value for a while after I bought the 997 though it is nowhere near now.
It's saying £28,680 for mine and the cheapest Gen 2 manual S on autotrader is £37,000 and that has no sports exhaust, no carbon interior pack is a year older, is chav white and has done 74k to my 58,500 miles.
On that basis I'd say mine is worth a shade under 40k which is exactly what I bought it for 4 years and 15k miles ago. Over £10k or 25% higher than the WBAC valuation. I reckon even for a quick sale someone would bite my arm off at £35k.

Re: WBAC value
When I was selling my CRZ the online estimation was £4500, about £1000 less than I was advertising it for but I was in a hurry to sell so would have taken that. When I brought it to the WBAC inspection center they revised the offer to £3700 I think because it's Northern Irish MOT wasn't recognised by their computer system and despite me having the certificate they wouldn't accept it as valid. I ended up selling it myself and accepted a £5000 offer a few days later.
Re: WBAC value
I think options added value to the XC90 value when I went in. I think their online stuff is based on boggo standard spec.

Re: WBAC value
Last month they offered £32.5k for my 42500 mile 6 year old Cayman GTS. At the same time the dealer offered me £31k against a new GTS 4.0 I have a deposit on. When I pointed out the difference the dealer said that at the actual viewing and final valuation, in most people's experience WBAC will be deducting standard amounts for every stone chip. We'll see at the end of November when the new car should arrive...
Re: WBAC value
Yup. Brother used WBAB and the value had a third knocked off it for his will used Fazer - but he badly needed the money at the time, so....PaulJ wrote: ↑Thu Sep 10, 2020 3:02 pm Last month they offered £32.5k for my 42500 mile 6 year old Cayman GTS. Done expect any of those quotes to mean anything unless you're car is literally in showroom condition.
Re: WBAC value
I've found Evans Halshaw to be better on price. Used them twice and no haggle on price.

Re: WBAC value
Their offer to me for the Panamera matched the trade-in value from the dealer, but was £4k south of the alleged private sale price.
Re: WBAC value
I sold my c63 to WBAC and I think they knocked about £100 off for a couple of stone chips. The c63 is the only car I've owned that I really couldn't be bothered to sell privately so they were the easy option and at the time the price was probably only around £1000 less than a private sale.

Re: WBAC value
£150 for my e36 if I assume it’s a p reg coupe not an n-reg saloon ( doesn’t allow me to pick anything older than a p-reg )
3000 for the mito which I think is a bit harsh given the spec and condition - if I was selling I’d put it up for £4500.
£2740 for the merc, again a bit harsh given the low owners, low mileage and pristine condition. If I was selling I’d probably stick it at £5k and see if I got any bites.
Everything else is too old to get a figure on

Re: WBAC value
£17k on the Audi. I paid £18k for it last month.
Re: WBAC value
WBAC offered my friend £23,000 for his Mustang, he found some private trader who offered £27,000 for it.
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: WBAC value
Pretty sure that WBAC had my M3 valued at £8600 when I sold it privately for £11k. They definitely struggle with older cars, especially anything a little more interesting!
Re: WBAC value
What Rich said.
They gave a comedy quote on my VXR8 - as did the Lotus dealership to be fair, although they admitted they had no idea what it was or how they would move it on. So I sold it to the UK specialist for ease (which meant I lost £500 on it over 5yrs - if I’d had more time to sell it privately I am sure a profit would have been made).
