MC20

Looks like the love child of a current McLaren and an Evora. :geek:

I like the shape in general (not sure about the scissor doors). Wheels are gopping though.

It looks alright, but it does feel like it lacks a certain flair, at least from those photos.

So that’s the Enzo based MC12 replacement. It’s alright but a bit shit compared to the last one :(

Very interesting. A Maserati super-sports car rather than a GT car would be right up my street. Love the looks personally - think it has something of the Jaguar CX-75 about it.

Disappointing that it is mit turbot but realistically it was never going to be any other engine formulation these days. Hopefully they can make it more sonorous than the V6 turbo in the Giulia QuattroFormaggio.

A low six figure price would be very tempting to a lot of people I would have thought. I'll have mine for £60k in 2024! :D

It isn't in any way though is it? Their comment of it being "a natural evolution" of the limited-run MC12" is just marketing guff.

Low £100k price not £400k (15 years ago so more like £600+ now);
Not a homologation special but a normal production model; and
Not based on a ferrari.

All of the above being good things!

Butterfly doors technically. :geek: :geek:

I agree though. Would be better with normal ones for day to day use.

Ah, I didn’t read the spiel. They really ought to crack on and make a coupe replacement but I think Ferrari just stole their Alfieri concept last minute and slapped a rubbish grill on to make the Roma which has left them in a bit of a pickle.

Looks pleasant enough but not necessarily distinct from other designs for my liking.

I like it. It looks good without being too try hard or ‘look at me’ or tacking on a stupid styling idea which doesn’t work to tie it into a model family.

Hope the pricing is sensible. A few weeks ago I'd heard talk of it being £300k plus but the looks and specs definitely suggest more like £140-150k.

Articles about suggesting low(ish) £100k range, i.e. comfortably south of the Ferrari Portofino which starts at £164k.

GT MC starts at £107k so I would guess this will still end up being £140-150k with options. Hope its cheaper than that.

Well they didn’t take long to disappoint me

Clips of the engine sound are extremely average.

It’s all carbon construction too so it’ll definitely be £150k not £120k and it’ll also be stupidly expensive to insure and repair.

So it was tested using a 4C mule and it’s a carbon tub.

Is it a modified 4C :?

Ha - didn't see it was tested on a 4C mule but that is EXACTLY what I was going to say.

They've made a Maserati 4C. Unnecessarily expensive on account of the carbon, doesn't sound good enough and will sell in disappointingly low numbers. If it is twitchy to drive they'll have made a replica, save for the fact it looks better.

The 4C was actually built by Maserati
So they’re building what they were originally going to build before someone in higher management told them to make Alfa sell it.
Feel bad for Maserati, whenever they come up with a new car Alfa or Ferrari steal it!

I thought it looked quite Alpine A110-ish. Which makes the possible 4C link even more plausible.
