I don’t know, if I could use a 512M to drive to the Alps for some mountain biking I absolutely would.
yeah, if there's a genuine story like that to it then great. It's the weirdos putting roof boxes onto lambos that I don't get.
I don’t get roof boxes on anything. They’re usually on a massive SUV which isn’t fully loaded, so they’re an insecure and inconvenient way of failing to pack your car properly 😄
Big dog, means the boot is half the size.

When we all go away with friends, it’s roof of, full boot and a tow all tray

Council stupidity is filling the cabin space with crap too, nothing goes in there.

Can you still do 120 with one down the Autoroute or does it make a right racket?
How about not having a sig at all?

135 but I think Tim has done even More

Nose down with proper mounts and it’s good as gold.

Then that’s all that matters. I wouldn’t want to spend a driving holiday going slowly because of fear of an unsecured load or a crap load of whistling.

or driving thousands of miles a year sat alone in a massive estate car, just so you can fit a wardrobe in it once a year!

The ML is only used when the kids are in tow, the TT is used when it’s just her or 1 child, the Defender used when it’s just me or 1 child or the dog.

I have no need for the 4th.

See, far less wasteful 🤔

And this is why I traded the Mini clubman for the 9-3. A trip away, lightly packed resulted in the boot full to the roof and bags all round the cabin.

I’ve done the “Xmas tree in convertible” thing many years ago, more than once. I didn’t realise it was such a badge of shame!

Depending on the size of tree, you’re either going to need a roof rack or a hearse to fit it in, so I thought the convertible was a good solution.
Cheers,

Mike.

Very few journeys in the BMW are one person - most have all of us and with the large toddler car seat, plus bikes/pushchair/etc in the boot. It's good to have room to have nothing in the cabin because sometimes one of us will want to jump in the back to entertain the boy.

My dad uses his TT to pick up their Christmas tree.

I’m pretty sure he’s not doing it for Instagram likes, just using the most suitable car they have for the job. :?

I would pay good money to see schmee hit 60mph with that tree on, watch it catch the air and twist that spoiler off

There were early rumours that only the m4 would get the godawful pig nose, but no, looks like they’re all getting it.
