Gordon Murray T50 Live Launch
Re: Gordon Murray T50 Live Launch
Ultima based engine mule running decent revs- the way this car looks is now irrelevant to me- that noise is enough justification to want one
Re: Gordon Murray T50 Live Launch
A year+ more and they're only testing the engine in a kit car? When's this car due - Will it make it before the 2030 ban?
Re: Gordon Murray T50 Live Launch
It’s a video made just because they’ve let Dario Franchitti loose in it, full prototypes start next month apparently
Re: Gordon Murray T50 Live Launch
I’ll happily have mine in a Radical body for a £2 million discount. I think it looks better too.
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Gordon Murray T50 Live Launch
Dario's reaction to the engine is quite telling, he seems terribly eager about it, and not in a 'I'm being paid to say this' way, but a just flat out enthusiasm.
Bodes well I suppose. None of us are likely to sit in one, let alone drive one, but it's nice (and not at all surprising) to see that Gordon Murray doesn't rest on his laurels.

My bad, was just reading about them before typing this and said the wrong thing.

Re: Gordon Murray T50 Live Launch
Doesn’t look anywhere near low enough to be making huge amounts of under floor downforce. Wonder if anyone will ever do testing with and without the fan?
Cheers, Harry

Oops, forgot this thread
Re: Gordon Murray T50 Live Launch
Is ride height relevant to downforce generating capabilities with modern aero though? Just thinking of F1 where higher rake = more space for a greater volume of air to pass through diffuser.integrale_evo wrote: ↑Sat Oct 16, 2021 8:46 pm Doesn’t look anywhere near low enough to be making huge amounts of under floor downforce. So that's a T25, T27, T33, T50 & TVR that he's been working on and not finishing...
Re: Gordon Murray T50 Live Launch
Guessing this isn't as imminent as was suggested. Late like every other GM project.

Re: Gordon Murray T50 Live Launch
I'm seeing details that remind me of at least five other cars in the new T33 but it works and looks fantastic

I prefer the looks to the T50.
It’s £quitealot though.

Re: Gordon Murray T50 Live Launch
He says he wants it to be a car people feel comfortable driving. At that price? He sold his own F1 for the very reason that it was too expensive to drive.
Re: Gordon Murray T50 Live Launch
I'm trying to decide if I like it....
It's got (big) hints of lots of other things:
It's got lots of Lotus, the rear and rear 3/4 looks very GT40, the rear from above and behind looks very Lancia Stratos
And the rear luggage clamshell looks awful!
But the interior looks ace!
(By comparison, I was looking at some photos of the new Noble and its interior looks SO bad - low volume cars prove how hard interior design is to get right IMO, far harder than external styling)
The idea of the snorkel and airbox being attached to the engine and not part of car is interesting
And the body-coloured roll over hoop makes it look like a Targa (which it isn't) - that would have to be in black/glass/carbon IMO
And as said, just ridiculously expensive still...

Again, it's just dull. Boring shapes that could easily be created in cheap fibre glass. The back lights are nice though.
