The car is up for sale and will be missed.

Pics below for anybody who doesn't know what a normal Boxster S without any strange spoilers looks like.

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/dri5mnoqtcid ... JpRsa?dl=0

Car details...

Main Specs
91,252 miles; Silver w/Black leather; 19” “Lobster Claw” alloys; Xenon headlamps; Heated seats; PSM; Wind deflector; Bose; PCM unit replaced with Sony Apple CarPlay unit - I can include the original PCM.

MOT until January 2023
Major Service 87,890
Pilot 4S - Fronts replaced at 91,000; Rears at 85,000

Since I've had the car, I have done the following to it which probably shows my original plan to keep it for a much longer amount of time...

2021
Design911 switchable sports exhaust fitted. Major service done at the same time which also replaced gaskets, cam chain tensioners and an O2 sensor.

2020
Minor things I've done were to replace the air-con switches; front wheel alignment; LES bulbs in sidelights, trunk & frunk; front discs, pads and sensors; Bilstein front dampers; top mounts. All the front coolant & radiator hoses were replaced. New switch to open the roof as it was a bit sticky and also replaced the front cup holders.

Car was bore-scoped by AMS Porsche when I bought it in July 2020 at which time rear discs were also replaced.

Services have been mainly done by independents.
Minor @ 13228, 20581, 55570, 58772, 77336
Major @ 26371, 38234, 58665, 84520, 87980

Looks pretty minty 😎

Wish I’d swapped my head unit for something like that.

It was a complete ball ache to do, but well worth it. I see Porsche now do their own retro-looking ones for earlier 911s, CarPlay and AndroidAuto... £1499

I genuinely couldn't remember if they were as bad as BMWs used to be, turns out they are. I met up with a friend today and his Boxster is in stunning condition but hardly any options at all.

Someone in the FB group is interested in the car, but 0 hits from the AutoTrader ad so far. Was surprised by how the AT system hasn't moved on a jot from when the internet became popular - I have sympathy now with some of those awful-looking ads I've read in the past - its literally just one freeform text box you get to put the description-in. Doesn't even support line breaks.
Cheers,

Mike.

I remember reading at the time that you could easily double the price of a Boxster in options..

Tried eBay? I had a ton of stupid questions when I listed mine but it sold pretty quickly.

My 996 has very few options too, I just tell myself it's the special motorsport lightweight GS-RT track edition.

I've got it listed for £12,995 just now.

There's a couple of vids up on that DropBox link now for the FB guy - was trying to be really nitpicky and show up what I could find cosmetic-wise.

If someone on here was interested, I'd throw in things like the diagnostic reader, winter cover etc rather than sell those after.
Cheers,

Mike.

Someone local from the FB group is looking to come and see it tomorrow.

Not a single bite from the ad.

I thought it was fairly priced given all the work done to it, but always difficult to tell.

My mrs is selling hers if anyone wants a nice 3.2s 987. She's done 2 thousand miles in 18 months of owning it - what with working from home and a pandemic

It seems a good price compared to the ones I’ve been looking at. Unfortunately I need to trade the 4 series as it’s simpler and the cash they are offering makes the hassle of a private sale pointless.

Good luck.

Shame it's not Summer. Maybe @Foz can wait 6 months 😂
