Here’s the instructions for the unit in question.

Presumably I need to splice the yellow & black wires in to the head unit, the red one in to the head unit on the same connector as the blue one.

So, how do I do that with the standard audio connectors and the fact there’s already red, yellow and black wires going in to the head unit at each step of the way?

I wonder if I can just use a standard electrical cable connector block and join the cables in to the chain at any point?

Mike.

Nightmare..

I read so many horror stories about Bose and new Hu which is why I didn't bother swapping it out.

Edit the MOST system will be the problem.

Standard electrical connector blocks were the answer to this one.

F*cking locking wheel nut key still hasn’t turned up so have had to put the tyre fitting back to Thursday. I can see its now been posted at least - although it was yesterday afternoon, not Friday afternoon...

I’ve been encourage to leave a Google review for the garage and think its important to do this, but am going to find it hard not to be a bit harsh given the car came with tyres worn to the indicators, the roof won’t open and its taken 5 weeks to get the necessary parts sent out to me... Even under these strange times.
Cheers,

Mike.

Youre too nice Mike - ask for some money back before your do the review to give them the chance to be decent.

If you’re going to leave a poor review, you needn’t bother. I may be late to the party on this one but it turns out Google don’t publish the bad reviews.

After my experiences yesterday with Station Garage Milnthorpe being utterly appalling and Lodge Tyres Carnforth being great, I felt like leaving reviews. And guess what ? The good review for Lodge Tyres went live instantly, the one for Station Garage is still not visible over a day later. And googling the phenomenon (realising the inherent irony there !) I found many other people have made the same observation. The bad reviews never see the light of day.

It doesn’t appear to. Their score still says all their reviews are 5 stars.

Which makes the whole thing misleading and ultimately pointless ? Shouldn’t they have some kind of legal weasel words to say they only publish selected reviews and it’s basically an advert rather than representative reviews ?

I’m starting to think you shouldn’t believe everything on the internet :(

Very weasely but its there. If you click on the question mark it tells you:

Reviews are automatically processed to detect inappropriate content like fake reviews and spam. We may take down reviews that are flagged in order to comply with Google policies or legal obligations.

The policies page it links to doesn't specifically mention defamation or anything more specfic than 'legal obligations' but that's what I expect they're concerned about in this scenario:

https://www.pinsentmasons.com/out-law/n ... -of-appeal

https://www.theguardian.com/technology/ ... ad-reviews

It may be that your review gets posted but I guess if its one star it may automatically get flagged for human review (I don't fancy their job!) before going up.

Nothing to review - they didn't do any work and you didn't pay anything!

I did wonder about Google reviews as someone had a similar experience recently and said their review disappeared. Will look in to it though.

Not sure that's relevant... He made a trip to a supposed specialist who turned down his work and acted unprofessionally. I'd want to know that before spending the time driving out of my way.

I know, I was being a little facetious.

Tbh, he did what 99% of the internets keyboard warriors claim they do every day in their powerful office positions. He Didn't like Steves attitude so told him where to go.

To be fair you are assuming Steve gave him attitude rather than the bloke being defensive because Steve made him look like a mug for not knowing that there were TPMS sensors in each wheel and/or he was going to just bodge it because he didn't have the parts (presumably pretty likely) and got caught out.

You definitely do get bad reviews on Google as I've read many. I guess maybe it depends on whether the company complains about them being unfair or inaccurate as to whether some are removed, but often the company responds to the bad review and you can read their response.

Having had time to reflect, it did strike me that it could be some kind of pathological inability to accept being wrong.

The initial conversation was fine, until he said he'd fit a universal rubber valve, and I said that there was a sensor in there. Although it was a perfectly acceptable misunderstanding at that point as not all cars have TPMS, instead of saying "oh yeah, d'oh!", perhaps in his mind he was already committed to the rubber valve being correct, and so he just kept on digging to the point of being offensive, before finally flouncing off when he ran out of ideas.

Anyway, it doesn't really matter. The main thing I've learned is that Google reviews are a crock o' shite and not to be trusted

You'd think you'd be used to that by now for fucks sake.
