The "anything & everything" about Porsche Boxsters thread
Re: Used Boxsters - Talk to me....
Nice one! I didn’t find that site and all the others I had found were asking a lot more money other than the DIY kit. That’s another thing off the list
Cheers,
Mike.

Ohh great, had been looking for something like this. Just need to find time to fit...
Re: Used Boxsters - Talk to me....
I see “COVID” is still the go-to excuse for why things aren’t arriving in a reasonable timeframe.

Had to check something the the local Porsche dealer today as the locking wheel nut key still hasn’t turned up so I was looking for the backup option of ordering a new key from them or just ditching them and getting non-locking bolts.
20 new bolts, £128.
Hourly labour rate - £198

Good lordy.
We were in Malmaison Newcastle this morning packing up to come home. Not used the car for days and I swore I'd left the keys under the TV...... Gone.
Thinking this is going to cost me big time while throwing 2 large bags of clothes over the room they turned up. In her makeup bag.
I was too relieved to go spastic

They used to do good value fixed price servicing. It was one of my better experiences of main dealer work but they were used to me rocking up with my toddler son buying bits and bobs for the 968.Ascender wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 12:00 pm Had to check something the the local Porsche dealer today as the locking wheel nut key still hasn’t turned up so I was looking for the backup option of ordering a new key from them or just ditching them and getting non-locking bolts.

Parts seem cheaper for sure, especially with club discounts.Carlos wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 2:28 pmThey used to do good value fixed price servicing. I didn’t ask about servicing actually, although there’s a couple of specialists in Edinburgh, but yeah, the price for the bolts seemed ok.
I don’t know if ironic is the word, but frustrating covers the fact that we’re having absolutely fantastic weather and can’t get the bloody roof down...

Don’t worry, it’s going to rain next week!

3.2 is the more reliable one?

3.2s bore score less than 3.4s they say. But the later 3.2s have the updated IMS so are better (‘06 I think).

Unfortunately I still can’t get my roof down nor get the tyres changed so its been a frustrating month...
What I will say about the 986 v 987 is that while i was sceptical, the advice on here was spot-on - the cabin is much less claustrophobic and well put together than the 986 one. That said, i was close to getting a 986, so what do I know. I like both of them, but haven’t regretted getting the 987 one little bit and I’m back to enjoying every single drive and making excuses to get out in the car more.
