My rear ones are still squealing with light braking - they were new when I bought the car, but I'm wondering if the anti-vibration shims are corroded like that are on the front and that's what's causing it?
Cheers,

Mike.

Funny. The most boring person on here with a drug addict brother. Just saying, lad.

Brakes on mine have been solid the whole time I've had it.

Maybe I don't brake as hard as you guys

Thanks to this thread (and the fact it's getting cold and the Caterham doesn't have a heater) I've been idly dreaming about a Cayman the last couple of weeks. This one caught my eye but could do with a few k off with that history.

My mrs bought a 987 S a couple of weeks ago, its lovely apart from an issue with the heater vents, the centre ones don't blow so I assume the dash needs to come apart to replace something or other.

Its had the secondary cats removed and sounds brill.

Those bits on that car add up to a lot of money but yes the v car will put lots of people off come resell time.

Re brakes - I'm going to get them looked at before replacing. Never been the same since loading it up with about 80kg of bags on hols.

Is it a Porsche oddity or is it not blowing any air at all ? My W124 isn’t designed to get hot air out of the centre vents, only cold.

No it’s definitely broken, not uncommon.

It’d make a pretty fucking useless soft top if it wasn’t designed to blow warm air on you.

When I bought my 968, the vents would barely let any air in at all.

When I took out the pollen filters, they were probably the originals (13 yrs old) and caked with crud.

Doubt this will be any help to you Dan, but I thought you might appreciate the story
