The 430 especially looks heavy from the back.

They don't seem to photograph well; they always look better in the flesh.

They look a little plasticy, especially in red, but the challenge rear grill really helps break up the expanse of plastic.

430 front looks better, the 360 lights are just a bit too big and can look a bit kitcar sometimes. I prefer the cleaner shape though, and the 360 rear end with challenge grille is much nicer. The 430 is too top heavy and even more so with the rear lights perched on top to try and mimic the enzo.

Broccers, I’m game - what is your statement and we’ll help prove it right/wrong.

He claimed that his Boxster is faster than a 360 round a track.

It’s a trap

Having experienced a 986 3.2 and driven a 360 I’d say in anything but extreme cases the 360 would be quite a fair way ahead.

I use my years of pro racing driver experience to say this 8-)

8:23 lap of the Nurburgring.

8:18 lap of the Nurburgring.

8:09 lap of the Nurburgring.

There is an extra 10 years of development in there aswell.

Those aren’t my times, they are the times of Fastest Laps dot com!!!

I think Broccers is a 987 3.4 - which has a time of 8:18 on there.

Both are for the wrong cars though

The 360 is not a spider and that is a 986 Boxster S with around 50 less horsepower and smaller rubber.

The nearest on fastestlaps is a 981 Boxster which has around 15hp more than Broccers 987 3.4 and does a 7:58. Assuming the 360 spider is heavier and therefore slower than the coupe, I expect the Porsche would match or may even slightly pip it round the 'ring.

On a shorter / slower circuit with less of an emphasis on power I imagine the Boxster would probably beat it, at least, based off those figures... hardly conclusive but I would say probably makes Broccers point that performance wise its a lot more money for not much more.

ETA: Just seen Rich's post re a 8:18 - may well split the other way then.

Right. Everyone hold fire and let Broccers make his statement. No one really knows what his question is!

You’re expecting broccers to know what his question is? That’s a big ask.
