Can we just take a moment to ignore the hidiousness that is the grill and acknowledge that the rest of the car is a bland identikit design?

Well the side view is a Mustang, the rear is a Lexus which left them with the front. For better or worse the only way to make it their own was to stick the mouth of a raping chipmunk on it.
Look at the new 1 series which just looks like any generic hatchback.

It won’t be long until we see these being run around with the grille blacked out and no front plate.

Like the new 1 series it'll probably look better in the metal than pics, but it's not doing much for me.

Speaking of the new 1'er.

I caught up with one Sunday at a local d/c roundabout, and with two big exhaust pipes one either side I wondered if it was a new M135i and whether I could engage thrust mode and see whose was more betterer.

It was a 118d.

(I won)

ffs.

Does the grill really upset people that much? Other than the pictures you’ll never see one again because it’ll be wedged up the bumper of the car in front.

More seriously I don’t actually mind it, I think that’s because I stopped liking BMW’s styling a while back and haven’t ever viewed them as nice looking cars since so there’s nothing to be disappointed about any more.

None of the rest of the range have looked any better in the plastic

The better* looking ones I've seen of the current lineup have all had the completely black grilles, so you can't quite see the crappy blanked off top bits. But then they just look like a cokehead that's done so much they've lost their septum.

*still monumentally hanging though

the 1 series is ok looking, it doesn’t look like a BMW though.

BMW know their market; "all 4-series models in the UK will be available in M Sport trim only".

Always quite liked the normal 3 coupes/4s. Lovely interior in this one http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... obcid=soc3

Here's hoping the rushed facelift they introduce in 18months is an improvement.

Let's be honest, it'll be hard to make it look worse.
