Somebody stop me.
Somebody stop me.
I don't know whether it's a form of lockdown fever or my age getting to me, but I'm starting to become smitten by the latest Yaris. (The GR one of course). My last six cars have been Porsches and if the truth be known I also think the Latest 718-6 GTS Cayman would be a super last hurrah for N/A manual gearbox sports cars as I'm 66. (The fun car 'mad money' in reserve is adequate but not a bottomless pit).
The missus is happy with her Up GTI, so would the Yaris be too much like that on steroids, should I do the unthinkable and say goodbye to Porsches? All advice appreciated.

Been on the sherry pops?
Re: Somebody stop me.
The Yaris looks great, seems value; I wonder whether it will be as good to drive as the ingredients lead us to think?
Re: Somebody stop me.
Would love one, if I was old ( ) and had a spare 30k it'd be a no-brainer.

I like the looks of it and if it's great to drive then that'd be very exciting. As you've had a few Porsches, why not? It might not give you the thrill of a Cayman as often though?
Left over crest; tightens.
Re: Somebody stop me.
I get it and it has the potential to be great fun but no good for Willy Waving but those who know, know
Re: Somebody stop me.
Only you can answer the question Mr Paulo
I think the GR sounds like a giggle, but if you don’t yearn for more space, I think a manuel 6-pump Cayman would be more joyous more of the time. Although maybe you’ve had too much of a good thing in that regard?

Go and try the Yaris, you’ll never know.
I still want a Fiesta ST for the cheap thrills and the Yaris has the on paper cred to stretch that want up to £30k...

Not too worried about the willy waving aspect these days, but deserting Porsches after 20 years would be a wrench. They have become so normal and correct. There's no doubt about it a new Cayman GTS 4.0 and a Yaris GR upgrade for 'er indoors would be the ideal solution. However, for that we'd need to find some previously undiscovered funds or my powers of persuasion and diplomacy/man maths would need to be at PhD level.
Will definitely be giving the Yaris a careful once-over when they appear at the local dealers though. If I test drive one it might be nice to find out what's over all those hedges you get in the countryside.

What do they sound like?
Re: Somebody stop me.
You’re only 67, wait until your 80 then get the Yaris or Jazz.
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Somebody stop me.
I think they look ace, I’d have one.
Re: Somebody stop me.
Whilst I like the Yaris GR, I think I’d prefer the new Mini GP. If it’s anything like the previous one, it’ll be an absolute riot.
