I answered that, and to be clearer it’s got a more complex roof than a Mustang so it’ll be more expensive and complex to fix if it goes wrong. Given it’s from the same supplier I wouldn’t have full confidence it’s not a headache waiting to happen.

So don't fit the cover from a 2015-17 mustang to your brand new Porsche 992 targa and you should be ok?

Exactly. And if you don’t fit those rubbish Apple accessories to your brand new Apple computer then you should be ok.

can you provide any evidence that the same company make the roof for the mustang and the targa on the 992 Porsche. As simple as that.

I’ve quoted from below link, I think you need an OEM account to see the full listing

“Webasto SE. Soft top. Europe, Porsche, 911 (Germany)”, the soft top and the Z bar System of the 911 are two versions of the same system.

https://www.marklines.com/en/market_report/3129/

It looks like they started Targa system supply to Porsche in 1995

I quoted it, you could also google

"porsche" 911 2016 cabriolet roof "webasto"

3rd result down, it looks past the filter. I can’t log in to my work account from a personal iPad.

A targa isn’t a cabriolet. And a 2016 isn’t a 992.

It’s the same roof on a 992 as a 2016, as I explained. You can google that bit for yourself. They’ve used the convertible roof system as the basis for the Targa too

Stowing the new 911 Targa's top can be done from the comfort of the driver's seat, but Porsche has made the world's simplest soft top infinitely more complex. Essentially a hybrid between the hardtop 911 Carrera and Cabriolet, the 911 Targa uses the Cabriolet's power folding top mechanism to stow the cloth top from the comfort of the driver's seat. Press the same switch you'd use to put down the top on a 911 Cabriolet, and the Targa's clamshell rear hatch opens up and back to form a Z shape, two flaps on the sides of the Targa bar shoot open, and the top folds back to stow behind the rear seats underneath the glass for all to see. The Targa bar flaps then close as the clamshell comes back down to earth
