You must choose only one
Re: You must choose only one
Guy on insta just flogged his cgt and replaced it with an f40 - I thought this was very strange. Cgt is my vote too.
Re: You must choose only one
Yeah, smallest car on that list by far.integrale_evo wrote: ↑Sun May 17, 2020 10:42 pmBet it's not, the central tub is based on the same one from the 60s they were using for the 911 at the time.
I'd imagine it looks tiny compared to any of the others on the list!

None of them really float my boat, but if you put a gun to my head then it would have to be the 918 without question.
Re: You must choose only one
Yes, well - this really isn't all that difficult is it.
GT1 - 'period race car'. Will be over stiff, laggy, not all that fast by today's super/hypercar standards and deafening on the road. Have you not seen Tiff pogo it round a circuit in period?
918 - Overweight. Flappy paddle hybrid nonsense. Appeal largely limited to being the newest and fastest. Will avoid ad hominems as to who those charateristics may appeal for the sake of a certain Kiwi owner of this parish.
959 - Roly poly and heavy. Add turbo lag and the appearance of a melted 80s 911. Technical tour du force of a looong bygone era. Only 80s nostalgia-festishists need apply. Double denim and Cindy Crawford poster folded in the glovebox.
Carrera GT - lighter than all but the stripped out GT1. Best sound by a country mile. Manual gearbox. V10. Whose silly poll was this again?

DYELC?
Re: You must choose only one
I can see valid objections to all but the CGT that would allow us to reconcile Swerv with being a CG. Only one I can think of with the CGT is LHD only (which I think applies to all the rest too, bar the 959). Other than that its pefection in four wheeled form, unless you hate Porsche or the colour silver.

Re: You must choose only one
I thought that might elicit a response I've just never been a massive Porsche fanby tbh, especially their "supercars". That said I've always had a soft spot for the 944/968 and the 928 in particular, and the Taycan has huge appeal. More recently maybe a classic 911 (pre-'80).
More specifically I've always thought the 959 was gopping and I much preferred the relative simplicity of the F40. I've never taken to the CGT's looks either - very awkward. GT1 - yeah I'm sure it would be amazing but it's not a genuine option really is it? 918 looks bang on the money and being hybrid is no drawback for me.
Re: You must choose only one
Bloody uncle...faked his death and rang me up to tell me he'd pranked me, but the Porsche is still on its way, then this arrived. Not even the model I chose. Furious!
Oui, je suis un motard.
Re: You must choose only one
What can I say - I'm odd...
It's completely flawed as a Road Car for sure but the CGT isn't perfect (difficult Clutch etc.) the poll doesn't stipulate using is as a daily driver so I'd live with the flaws, just to be able to look at it in my garage every day.
Re: You must choose only one
Same here. Give me a GT3 or GT2 any day.Swervin_Mervin wrote: ↑Sun May 17, 2020 11:30 pm None of them really float my boat, but if you put a gun to my head then it would have to be the 918 without question.
Much as I adored the 959 as a kid, it wasn't because it was beautiful; it was because of what it could do. It's been bettered in that by standard 911s now.

Dear young Jobbo.
I don't own a GT2RS.
You walloper.

Same as Mike, 918, but none of them really excite me. Maybe the balsa wood gearknob in the CGT.
Re: You must choose only one
You’re excited by knobs? The CGT has never done anything for me, visually it’d be the GT1 but I have no doubt it’d be a pig to drive. I imagine the 959 feels very old now.
Re: You must choose only one
An NA V10 with 600bhp @ 8000 rpm and a manual box, in a car that weighs 1380kg.
It’s perfect!
It’s perfect!
