Your poster cars

Post by Jimmy Choo »

I'm bored.

I saw a picture of the Ferrari 288GTO and remembered that it was the car I had on my bedroom wall.

What was your poster car before you could drive?

Countach. It was an LP5000 as opposed to the QV I wanted it to be. This widescreen one in fact...

I had a Lamborghini 'through the ages' style one showing about eight cars from Espana to Murcielago - it must have been from when the Murcielago had just come out.

I also has a Ferrari F50 one which I was given as a gift, even though the F50 was quite an old car by that point and I wasn't really interested in it at the time.

Can’t remember the others! I remember having some of those car caricature ones with the big wheels.
Mostly pictures of women to annoy the housemaster as this was boarding school, we had a full size Victoria Silvstedt stuck behind the main door. Whenever the housemaster came round to show parents he would fully open the door and stand in front of it
He eventually got tired and ripped them all up in a fit of rage one day and from then on gave us advance warnings of viewing times so we would remove them beforehand.
How about not having a sig at all?

I had that exact poster - it always intrigued me slightly more because it wasn't the spec you could buy in the UK, which missed the skirts but otherwise looked pretty much the same. I still don't know where the skirts are from, or whether they're factory.

ETA: it looks very much like the Countach SV5200 QV by Sbarro: http://www.lambocars.com/countach/count ... ges_1.html

Jobbo yeah the skirts always confused me too. Much nicer than anniversary jobs, but much worse than plain round-belly.

I had a Countach and Testarossa poster, and loads of posters that were the centrespreads or free posters from Street Machine so loads of hot rods.

Coolest one was the Cosworth one below, it's from a press pack so my dad must've got one for me from the local Ford dealer. The rest were the usual Italians - F40s, Ducati 916s and I think a F512M featured at one point.

I also had an A3 sized image of a naked lady, but my mum made me keep that on the inside face of my cupboard door. No skirts or spoilers.
