Best covid19 blast q-car?

Post by mik »

So if they start to clamp down on going-for-a-drive.... what’s the best incognito car to have a sneaky blast in?

Evora isn’t going to work. :?

Integrale always springs to mind - as 99% of the public will have no idea, but maybe a Model3 is a more realistic option now? But would it hit the mark sufficiently?

A lot probably depends on where you are and how densely populated it is, but I'd say it would need to be quiet and/or manuel wherever you are. That or just put a Taxi sign on whatever you like, they never seem to get stopped no matter where or how they're driven.

I reckon my M140i fits the bill. Subtle enough for no one to notice and plenty fast enough for when you hit the countryside.

Not sure about the fast bit but our silver S60 is so incognito we have walked past it more than once and nobody every spots us waving from it. Perhaps the same colour with an S60R or T5?

There's a storage place down the end of my road and over the last few days there has been a steady stream of bushpig LCs, Terranos, Patrols, etc with their roof tents and mad max gear roaring out, often with a boat behind.

I reckon one of the new Peugeot 3008 Hybrids would be quite a good shout, aren't they about 6 secs to 60 and 150 MPH? No one is expecting that of one of them!

Ok, 134mph in a 40 is fairly outrageous, but 100 in a 70, 76 in a 50 on fairly quiet and ( unless in Scotland ) nice clear and dry roads?

Nah.

Model 3 performance probably the best shout, preferably with night vision camera and drls disabled for proper covert night time runs.

Grey or black 135 / 140i a good shout, especially with remap and super quiet exhaust.

Well, not if you going to go 134 in city limits, no :?

McSwede; under cover cop car, sneaky :D

Mind you, if there's going to be a higher proportion of vans on the road;
