No good, I occasionally need to carry my family of 4, a friend for each of us plus my mother-in-law. By occasionally, I mean it hasn’t happened yet but I can envisage a time where it might be true. Also, I need to do 3000 miles without stopping, even for a second.

Idiot.

Clearly a Learjet would be enough.

I’m enjoying it so far. Doesn’t feel as wide as the Volvo. It does feel like it has a longer wheelbase; bumps seem to take a long time between feeling them at the front wheels and the back 😄

The boot is long. I’ve just taken an old tumble dryer to the tip in it, and thought I’d check how well it accommodates my stepladder. That only fits in the Volvo if the bottom rung goes round one of the front seats; not a problem in the Merc:

Have discovered that virtually all the online part of COMAND is pretty much dead now; I can access the weather 😄 Because it has the online traffic it doesn’t have TMC, so far as I can tell; I think a retrofit CarPlay interface is the way to go so I can get Google Maps.

I don’t have any tins of custard in the cupboard, but I did find three packets of Birds’ Dream Topping. Which ideally illustrates that there are 3 rear seats 😃

Wonder what the CLS is rated to tow, always liked the first gen one!

I like this car.

In fact, I think it's pretty Rock and Roll.

It's the colour of Led

It's shaped a bit like a Zeppelin

It looks great IV long trips too.

I bet you could take that Stairway all the way to Devon in it.

He should get one and put his black dog in it.

Tempted. Pretty sure we'd have some Good Times/Bad Times.

I'll probably just Ramble On instead though.

I've just checked - one of them is, and the other two were best before end of Feb 2020 so perfectly usable

Mik, that sounds the sort of wanky description which is ideal for an estate version of a 4-dr coupe, so yes, why not :D Merc designate the Shooting Brake the X218; the normal CLS is a W218 but estate versions are usually S-prefix so fuck knows what they were trying to call it.
