TARGA !

Post by Sundayjumper »

Want a taste of grassroots motorsport ? With a bit of mud, and a bacon roll ?

Jon & I are planning on doing the Oxford Motor Club Bullnose Targa on 28th June. The format of the event this year might mean we can't co-drive / co-navigate in our usual way so we could do with two navigators. You'll need to be a member of one of the invited clubs (about £20/year) and hold an RS Clubman Licence (free). Otherwise the costs are covered (including the bacon roll). You just need to be able to read a simple map.

"After a successful first running of the Bullnose Targa last October, the event returns bigger and better for 2020 running on the new date of Sunday June 28th. It will now be a multi venue event, with tests at a number of venues in North Oxfordshire, including Bicester Heritage. Regulations will be available shortly."

Sounds fun, but with my track record of reading in cars, I'm running myself out. I suspect it'll hamper your times having to stop every few hundred yards while I repeat the bacon roll.

Thanks for your consideration for our mildly stripped out interiors.

Here’s an example of the map. Basically calling out whether to go left or right through each gate, how tight they are, where it’s just a wiggle. And particularly in my case, where the faster turns are.

Left over crest; tightens.

Can't commit to anything at the moment, but put me on the reserve list! :)
