Insurance quotes?

Post by Zonda_ »

Axa want £500 to renew on the Merc and that aint happening! Anyone had any good ones recently? The big comparison sites all seem to within pence of each other these day, anyone using any lesser know sites and getting good deals?

And on the same thread, good insurers for chipped cars? I suspect I may do it before the year is out, and DL don't touch you for a power increase over 20%.

Alex at Sky Insurance?

They seem to be very chill about upgrades/modified cover/etc.

Alex did me a great quote on my Evora, much cheaper than elsewhere.

Otherwise, I've had great quotes from A-Plan, they've been my go-to for my day-to-day stuff. They cover all kinds of mods too.

Adrian Flux took my Defender insurance down from £300 to 181 on the renewal quote through the post, no haggling needed which was nice.

Yeah, that's annoying isn't it. I use Direct Line now I've taken the decat off the Megane and the power increase has dropped below 20%.
IIRC I was with Admiral for the previous year but DL were £200 cheaper - which is handy as in 2 years I'll recoup the £350 it cost to get the decat downpipe swapped back to the OEM one :(

Manning UK are great for the Lotus. They were really competitive for the Golf as well but miles off for either of our BMW's.

Ive found confused.com to be the best - retunred cheaper quotes for me than the meerkats.

Surprisingly Swinton Insurance are very good for my supercharged mx5. The online quote page has a tick list of modifications you fill in then they send you a price, all very simple.

Feel free to drop me a PM, but bear in mind that I only do non-standard stuff. So imports, modified, performance, etc.

Cheers

Indeed I do, gearbox started to play up on the A3 and seeing as I already had a receipt for the clutches being replaced for £1400 I got shot.
