Based on how well recieved this has been, some special edition/limited/evo/TRD editions are pretty much guaranteed.MikeHunt wrote: ↑Sun Feb 14, 2021 11:09 am I did ask the question of Toyota regarding how limited they will be, he said that he thinks that the GR isn’t profitable, possibly making a loss and so unlikely that there will be tens of thousands sold.
I am more worried that an evo version is released, that would be even more tempting!

Re: Toyota GR Yaris
I don't think they need to build 25k now though. The FIA changed the rules for 2020/21 due to Covid then introduced compulsory electric/hybrid tech for 2022.
It sounds like the car was built to be homologated but the rules have changed since like when Group B cars were scrapped before some were completed.
Re: Toyota GR Yaris
Yeah, it’s not required as an homologation special now anyway, but the 25k figure was originally what they had to make as a minimum in their plans.
Re: Toyota GR Yaris
Watched a few videos of this now and yeah I see the appeal, interested to get a look round my friends when it arrives!
Re: Toyota GR Yaris
Decent 1/4 times, especially in sub-optimal conditions. The fastest my most powerful Celica went was 12.5, with another 140bhp over the Litchfield.
Re: Toyota GR Yaris
Shaving almost half a second for £640 seems decent value to me.
I think testing in the damp is a good test of how well the extra power can be used.

Re: Toyota GR Yaris
Seems like Toyota have sold 25k and now stopped taking orders.

Sold for just shy of £44k (including 6% premium), that will cover the Mr JWW fee

Re: Toyota GR Yaris
Litchfield are going to make more profit out of selling their two Yaris GRs for a premium than they will out of the suspension and tuning upgrades
Re: Toyota GR Yaris
I walked past the Toyota dealer the other day and hadn't realised how pumped up a normal Yaris is now - given it's only available as a 5-door 1.5 hybrid. Almost comically aggressive for something too slow to even considered a warm hatch. Theirs was out on display at the front, all faux-carbon front bumper, faux rear diffuser, bumpy roof, big arches - and OAP metallic maroon paint.
With that and the Jazz both going off the rails, what are sensible retirees supposed to buy now?

Re: Toyota GR Yaris
I was gonna say the Micra, but even it's gone a bit sharper and edgier these days.
Re: Toyota GR Yaris
The new Civic and Aygo both look very angry too. All the new Pugs have this weird fang thing going on. Everyone's trying to look unique instead of bland but they're just unique and ugly now.
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Toyota GR Yaris
Saw one in a dark red driving through Kidderminster.
Gorgeous, I want one.
