The Pilot Cups were awesome but only lasted 4k miles on rear and £300+ each. What were you running ?

ETA - don't beat yourself up over it, life comes back to you. Kids and housing come first :D
i used OE Michelin pilot super sports - really good tyres, nice and predictable when they let go and lasted pretty well (loads more than 4k!)

I think that was one of the best things in the e92 - you could spin up the rears or steer on the throttle without it ever feeling like it was going to spin you off. I guess the clever diff/DSC made a big difference (light years ahead of the e46) and flattered hamfistery.

I’ll definitely miss my daily dab of oppo at my T junction!

Ah shit :(

Well I hope your one of your kitchen appliances does 8000 rpm to somewhat make up for it.
How about not having a sig at all?

E92 is peak Mcar for me. The right balance of good looks and muscle, and engine config.

+1 on that. Nothing that followed has the same allure. V10 M5 and 6 tempting but fatally flawed mechanically and both ugly with it, so yep - e90/92 is top of the tree for me too.

Hopefully I’ll be debating over an F80 M3 or an M2 in a few years time. I’m a big fan of the looks of both even though I’ve never driven either (though obviously we have an F31 distant cousin).

At the moment, the combination of nursery fees/wife working part time/house renovations/decent commute have meant any “safety net” savings for running fast stuff have long gone!

Anyway:

Half off DSC would leave big darkies on the road coming out of the local petrol station 😎

BMW allow an amazing amount of slip in that half mode mode.

My M2 is similar but that little bit more focused 😎

Disagree. I still hanker after an M6 in Indianapolis Red. They’ve aged well in comparison to some of the Bangle-era cars (albeit Z4 Coupe is by far and away the best admittedly).

Just imagine a Z4M Coupe with that V10. My god.

In that case best not check autotrader... they have one in nice looking condition, Indy red, 60odd thousand miles... eleven, yes eleven thousand pounds

Bummer :( Once you've gone V8, it's hard to move on.

When I told my old neighbour that I'd bought my SLK55 instead of sorting the conservatory, she said "You'll have far more fun in a nice car than you ever will in a conservatory". Hope you have as much fun in your kitchen, Rich

They aren't plated in the UK to tow nor is an F80 M3 or a Golf R.

At least you have your happy memories :D

I wonder what will happen with the value of these over time? Probably shoot up one day for good ones.

Anyway cant keep the same car forever as its boring and we are only here once.

Practicality has no place here.....:

Fair decision though, lovely cars especially the 4 door.

This is a fair point.

Sorry to see it go, it was a stupendous daily motor.
