I'm fortunate to have an offer of a lift. It's 2.5 hours drive there and their car is a Bentley

Hopefully get it Wednesday.

I bet! He seems a decent guy. I'd hate to sell a car with problems.

The guy who bought my M3 told me how he’d bought a 911 a few weeks previous (from a dealer), he was in Reading returning it that day he came to pick mine up because it had been diagnosed with £6k of faults!

There was nothing wrong with my M3, but I still had a worried feeling that there might be something!

Standard for 911s bought in Reading

A mate of mine bought a C63 AMG and returned it after it needed a complete top end rebuild at £8k. He now has a diesel 3 series because he needed something quickly (335d).

No pics just a report. Was out at the Happy Mondays gig on Friday and my friend with a dragster told me he's a bore camera so we will keep an eye on them. I reckon warming it up before thrashing it will do the trick.

Well it didn't break on the way back. Mate gave me a lift in his Bentley so guess my petrol bill isn't small. Think we got done speeding too. Doh.

I'm over the moon so far. Best 11 grand I've spent.

Nice one! That's a hell of a lot of car for 11K although I do think you've lucked-out on the spec which is spot on!

What's 3rd party servicing costs like for these?
Cheers,

Mike.

Mike servicing is less than m cars.

Is it better than my m coupe? I reckon it is. The noise is worth every penny. I'm not sure if it's got standard exhausts as it's loud when you press go.

I've also no idea how to open the roof.

You need to unclip if from the top of the windscreen first (theres a big button with "press" on it  ) - press button, pull back the metal latch and then use the switch next to the handbrake to lower it.

Also a tip - make sure the roof works properly before buying a convertible!!

I still have very fond memories of my original Boxster - the only criticism of it was that it was underpowered, but I never got round to buying that Boxster S I always wanted.
Cheers,

Mike.

It's about the experience not the speed I think. Our golfs are far more usable day to day.
