135 and 224 really talk to me. Love those old S3s. They need to get their facts straight though. Jaguar made two more series of Double-Six after the S3.
147 is tasty too. The E38 as the perfect 7.
150 is re-assuring in many ways, I still harbour dreams of owning a 400 at some point. Prices seem sensible for projects.
242 looks like crackin' value too.

I would expect 30,000+ miles in such a short timeframe also does the residuals no favours at all.

I think the extended warranty is circa £3k a year and pretty much obligatory given their (lack of) reliability. That and there are no independent specialists so you're main dealer for all servicing and repairs.

The '76 2.7 is probably the stand out for me at £30-35k and the Suffix A Rangey at a similar price is also a lot less than I'd have expected.

Lot 235 E-type is pretty spectacular and 60-70k not too unreasonable IMO.

I had spare time today so I went along to a viewing day. More low-key than auction day and you still get to check out all the cars, you just can't buy them (obviously) (I suppose unless you did a private deal somehow).

Feedback on the things that caught my eye:

1926 Morris Cowley Tourer - Looked & felt honest, would be a nice thing to have. Dickey seat looked a bit scary though.

1949 Triumph 2000 Roadster - Again quite honest and cute, although the paint was strangely flat and the dash really does seem to be carved from a big lump of wood, and not given enough coats of varnish.

1989 AC Cobra by RAM - A kit car but had a really nice patina, rather than just looking like a pile of s**t like most old kit cars do. It looks like a car that's been used properly. I bet it sounds fapping awesome too.

1983 Jaguar XJ6 Series III - Not an obvious choice but it's in amazingly original condition. For someone who's into these it'd be a great buy.

1966 Jaguar E-Type Series I Roadster - This one is utterly stunning. Utterly. The paintwork is mesmerising in its perfection. The estimate seems like a lot of money but if that's the market for these then this one is worth it.

1992 Ferrari 348 TB - Beautiful condition. Much nicer than the red one that's also in this sale. I don't fit into either of them.

2004 Ferrari 575M Maranello - I don't get these. It's not pretty, it felt a bit tired and yet it's ~£130k ? Pass. The black one (lot 178a) is a complete dog. Bargepole.

1937 Rolls-Royce Phantom III Sports Saloon - Fabulously imposing. If you want to get noticed this would beat the hell out of any similarly-priced modern car.

1970 Mercedes-Benz 280 SE Cabriolet - As with the E-Type above, stunning. I'm not sure how it can be worth twice as much but hey, it's only money.

1973 Porsche 911T - Nice car even though I don't get why they're £50k+ now. What made me sad was in the description it says "...this is an example that does not include a sunroof, electric windows or rear wash wipe as so more easily converted to RS specification..." suggesting it has a future as a fake RS instead of the nice, genuine car it is now.

1986 Ford Capri 'Turbo Technics' - I only had a look at this because Beany expressed an interest. It's in great condition but I can't say it's actually attractive in any way.

1972 Ford Escort Mk. I Twin-Cam Race Replica - Looks pretty nice, but having seen the welding inside the rear arches & the boot, there's a s**t-load of filler in those arches to get them that smooth !

1967 Volkswagen Beetle - Strong money for a Beetle but one so that's unmolested is rare.

2000 Volkswagen 'Bilbo' Camper - Much better in real life than in the photos. I could almost be tempted. Just to have somewhere comfy to sit & have a brew at an event.

I guess, but that 570S with 36k miles was spotless inside & out. The doors & the huge sills (carbon tub) make it feel very special. If I had £80k I'd be a bit tempted.

McLaren's look silly cheap at the moment. A few well publicised massive warranty claims seems to have hammered residuals in 2019.

LOL ! That wasn't aimed at you, it was about the crazy aircooled market where even a fake RS is worth huge money.

You're not doing yours to make money. And you use your car properly.

That '73 is a beautiful thing in its own right as well. I have more sympathy with making RS clones out of '74 onwards impact bumper cars (indeed that's i'd be very tempted to do that if I bought that '74 that they have listed).

On the McLaren - minty fresh looking or not I wouldn't touch one with the longest of bargepoles. I remember seeing a video on a 12C that had its power steering pump let go and put debris into the fluid. Not too big a problem you'd think... expect that fluid is shared with the suspension which required complete replacement with a near £20k bill. Any car company whose designers thought that was a good idea is not one for which I'd run their cars out of warranty (and there's no way I'm paying £3k a year extended warranty on a £80k car).

'79 911 Turbo, the car my dad wanted and a real poster icon from the early 80's, lovely, probably an epic disappointment to drive though, all laggy and fiery death backwards into a hedge.

That White 348TB, also lovely hopefully not too disappointing to drive.

Nissan 240z, wow the price for an old Nissan but so cool.

1994 Maser Ghibli, last of the boxy Masers and probably crap but I think they are great.
