Go buy an Alfa with a 2.4 jtd, a fiat coupe 20v turbo or a mighty seat Toledo V5 immediately

Actually, there’s quite a few 5 cyl cars. More so than v12s anyway

I5 - V60
V6 - Omega Elite
V8 - 928
If you get all wobbly-lipped about the opinion of Internet strangers, maybe it's time to take a bath with the toaster as you'll never amount to sh1t anyway.

Hmm, a good distraction from the meeting I'm in, but not a lot to say. I think this is it.
- I4 - many - all current
- I6 - E30 325i Cabrio
- V6 - Mondeo (£170!)
- V8 - E34 540i, CLK55, A8

I honestly have no idea about some of the engine but mostly -

in line 4s.
Flat 4 - scooby
V5 - V70, current S60
V6 - current E class and possibly Grand Cherokee
Inline 6 - possibly my 760, I think it came with bot 6 configurations over it's lifetime but could have been a V.

That is it I think. I would really have loved the Audi V10 but not brave enough. Might manage a V8 before they are banned...

The Volvos are an inline 5, non ? The only V5 I know of is the VW one.

Which makes me realise I should probably include VR6 on my to do list. And W8 for that matter.

IS it? I thought it was a V. TBH, I don't really care to much and got pelters last time for getting V4 mixed up with inline!

I missed out on this thread whilst I was 'away', but I like lists (who doesn't!) so will bump it...

Cars I've owned:

inline 3 (turbo petrol) - Smart For Four (0.9)
inline 4 (n/a petrol) - Alfa 156TS (2.0)
inline 4 (turbo petrol) - Mk VI Golf (1.4), Saab 9-5 Vector (2.2)
inline 6 (n/a petrol) - BMW e36 323i (2.5), BMW e90 330i (3.0)
flat 6 (n/a petrol) - Boxster S (2.7), Carrera S (3.8)
v6 (turbo diesel) - RR TDV6 (3.0)
v8 (turbo diesel) - RR SDV8 (4.4)

Other, different configurations

Other's which I've also 'driven' but not owned (oddly never drove my old man's Maser GT which was an omission!) and not duplicating any of the above layouts:

1 cylinder - couple of dumper trucks and go karts
inline 4 (turbo diesel) - Mitsubishi Shogun (1.8?)
v6 (n/a petrol) - Mercedes CLK 320
inline 6 (turbo diesel) - Komatsu PC 210 (6.7 - I think this actually is a Cummins?)
v8 (n/a petrol) - Audi S5 (4.2)
v12 (n/a petrol) - Aston Martin DB9 (6.0), Ferrari FF (6.3)

Never owned anything with a v8, v10 or v12 petrol which needs remedying and never driven a v10 of any description.

I drove a Dodge Viper round Mallory Park on one of those supercar driving things. It was rubbish and didn't even make a good noise, so I've been anti-V10 ever since

I used to take the bus to school and that made me like flat-6s.

This actually - may even have been one of the exact buses I used back in 1990:

Turns out it's a straight 6. I always thought it must be a flat 6 to be under the floor.

Ah yeah, I was curious as most buses use the same Volvo, Cat or Cummins I6 engines as trucks.

It's all been I4 for me except two I6's (e39 530i and e46 330i) and two V6's (Alfa 166 and the Jaaaaag XJ6).

I've driven a couple of flat 6s ('77 911 Carerra and Jobbo's Boxster) and I think only one V8 (Triumph Stag mit Rover V8) but that's about it unless I lost the memories of driving them when I wasn't well.

If we’re adding in Driven, I used to have my old Bosses Audi A8 - 4.2 Twin Turbo V8 for most weekends while he had it.

My list improves significantly if we can add configurations we've driven...

i3 turbo petrol (Fiesta, Focus, Fabia, Corsa)
i4 N/A or turbo, diesel or petrol (too many hire/borrowed cars/vans to remember)
i4 N/A hybrid (Toyota Auris, Lexus is200h)
V4 N/A petrol (Saab 99)
i5 N/A diesel (190D 2.5)
V6 N/A petrol (Alfa 156, Chevrolet Blazer, Ford Taurus)
V6 turbodiesel (Touareg)
i6 N/A diesel (E300D)
V8 petrol (F430, Grand Jeep Cherokee, Dodge Ram 1500)
V10 petrol (Gallardo)
V12 petrol (DB9)

Capacity-wise it spans from 0.9 litres (Fiat Uno) to 6 litres (DB9), and power-wise 43 (Opel Kadett 1.2S) to 493bhp (F430, Gallardo).
