Doesn't 'Notify Me Upon Replies By Default' in Board Preferences/Edit Posting Defaults do this for you? I certainly don't want to be spammed automatically when I create a thread. Opt-in only!
As always, Jobbo is right.

As previously mentioned, PhpBB is pretty limited. You need InvisionBoard or vBulletin for this kinda jazz.

I declare that the yes vote won. Matty has promised a borderless, free subscription model that will be better than what we had before. He didn't give too many details, but I'm sure it'll all work out. To make the change we have to give notice on your forum memberships though. As your elected leader I have negotiated a border deal based on a tariff subscription model and given notice that changes will take effect tomorrow.

Be glad you're now all opted in.

I wasn't sure what I was voting for so I voted for the option that involved the most change and upheaval, even though I had no actual information on the change, just because I was really super busy.

Yes, me too - I rather wish I hadn't posted it now. It really got under my skin at the time! Shameful really.

About that. Turns out, those tariffs are going to cost £1/user/month. The forum union are refusing to back down.

Don't worry. We've also pledged to make Boatshoes pay for it.
