Downtime

Post by Matty » Mon Jul 23, 2018 6:43 pm

Just FYI, I need to boot this forum onto a new host. There will be downtime. I might do it later tonight, or tomorrow night...or whenever I can be bothered. Stuff might look broken.

FAO Everyone but Beany: It needs fixing, due to IT stuff.

FAO Beany: I'm a lazy fcker and this version of Ubuntu is older than Gods dog. They've recently released the new 18.04 LTS (It's called Bionic Beaver, I couldn't not) and I decided to go for a clean install. I love LAMP, but apparently I should be loving LEMP. I CBA to learn new things at my age.

This is disgraceful. I expect 100% uptime. What kind of service is this? I demand a refund!

Chris gets promoted to SuperMod.

Marv gets demoted so he can only view MitoBoy's posts.

All done! New server.

I should hope we've all changed, it was 17-18 years ago

I'm familiar with that feeling, although I've got a brace of sites I want to shove on LEMP - or possibly Caddy.

Anyway, I missed most of this, so I don't care. :)

I am back via my PC, but phone/tablet can't see anything.

Is this normal?

Put your phone/tablet in airplane mode for 10 seconds and try again.

Tried that on phone : it took me to the login screen which looked promising. But once I logged in I am back to "if you are seeing this your DNS hasn't updated. try again soon"

I've had constant DNS update problems over 4g today too. Tried all sorts of resets and cache clearing. It now seems to have sorted itself out.

Works fine on all my devices.

Matty - have you blocked Mik because he's a skirt-wearing heathen who hates the English?
