I beat John Cleland at TOCA touring cars when i was about 8 at our local Gameplay store, where's my scholarship!
Re: Sim Racer beats Ex-F1 Driver
You possibly should have mentioned it was not on a computer that he was beaten though. I assumed it was on a sim and thought big deal.

This is quite a fun video of a pretty good sim racer racing some very good sim racers and two F1 drivers, the race itself is a bit messy but check out those qualifying times!

I quite fancied building a proper sim rig, then decided not to for the same reason I've never built a proper race car or entered a race, I'm too poor to do it properly
Cheers, Harry
Re: Sim Racer beats Ex-F1 Driver
Doesn’t a proper sim rig cost over 5 figures? I reckon I’d feel pretty upset once the cost of the rig amounted to the same as a decent track car plus years of track days, tuition and consumables!
How about not having a sig at all?

Quite.
Decent direct drive wheels are well into the thousands before you buy a frame, proper seat, pedals, shifter, handbrake setup and then proper spec pc and multiple monitors.
I'd still like to make something even if not professional spec....

That channel's just got me wanting to spend more money than I should on a sim racing setup (I currently don't even have a console other than a Wii). That and Richard Tipper (Perfection Valet) and Barry showing off they stuff on twitter this morning.Pete_ wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 6:55 pm This is quite a fun video of a pretty good sim racer racing some very good sim racers and two F1 drivers, the race itself is a bit messy but check out those qualifying times!
