I have a NordVPN account, it's a very good service I've found - zero loss of speed over my 80mb fibre line. Plus they offer a dedicated IP address too which is very handy.

Re: Web Privacy
So, can someone please summarise who is stealing my datas and why should I be worried about it?
Cheers, Harry
Re: Web Privacy
its becoming pretty common practice for just about anyone to try and harvest data to sell it especially if you install software / apps. Xbox and PS analyze pretty much every second of what you do (especially focusing on behavior with paid content like loot boxes), Nvidia started to do it when they enforced login for geforce experience, conan exiles has taken it to the next stage by installing a third party spyware app redshell to collect who knows what information and if you block it the game crashes on launch ....integrale_evo wrote: ↑Mon May 14, 2018 9:14 pm So, can someone please summarise who is stealing my datas and why should I be worried about it?
Trying to secure W10 from telemetry is becoming a full time job, so much is sent by cortana and the customer experience program etc regardless of what privacy settings you set.
It is becoming very hard to have control over personal data farming. Ubuntu with firefox and ublock is probably the best approach, then apple hardware and firefox and ublock. And always using a VPN, killing cookies on closing the browser and never login in to Google, Microsoft accounts etc.
As to should you be bothered that's purely a personal matter. My biggest concern is the growth of personality profiling being sold to future employers and how watching vinyl clad midget trap pron will affect my rating. This will become more of an issue as AI gets ever more sophisticated (googles recent AI demo is pretty terrifying already thou).
China is already giving all its citizens a personal score based on their internet activity and controlling what they can do based on acceptable behavior

i am currently trying to find a decent firewall that will give me more control over my OS
