So... if I have two laptops on my desk at home I can install this on both and use both without having to switch keyboard/trackpad? That's quite useful!

I mean, across Windows and OSX machines. I have a Mac sat next to my desk and it's annoying having to get they keyboard and trackpad out.

I'm sure there was a third party piece of software that allowed these sorts of shenanigans - I'm too lazy to look, but a shiny penny says MS bought it and that's where this came from.

My of the point of KVMs though is to have out of band access to a machine. This is only good in the OS, so in that case why not just use RDP or teamviewer etc?
