I have a couple of these which don’t take up so much desktop space as the flat units

Battery at 99.7% after 20 months and never letting it go below 20%

My battery health is at 94% and it’s exactly a year old. I only charge it when it’s at 1% though
How about not having a sig at all?

My X is 87% after 2 years. I think that’s alright tbh.

What’s the best way to charge, fully deplete first or stick to never letting it go below a certain percentage?

Why worry?

If you always charge it at >20% then you’ll only be using 80% of the charge anyway.

Might as well just charge it whenever.

I used to charge my iPhone 5 every day at 30-40%, within a year it started shutting itself down at anything below that battery level so charging whenever didn’t really work for me then. With my 6 & 7 I charged when it was getting quite low and it lasted significantly longer but some friends wait until their phone dies before charging and they seem to get significantly longer between battery changes. Reading some of the info on the Apple site and forums it seems to suggest charging before 20% and not going over 80% (something Apple are now backing up with the 80% hold on charge).

Life’s too short to worry about that sort of thing.

My wife’s 6S+ is on 87% but the lost ‘cells’ position is such that they have reduced the max power the battery can deliver so it has switched off peak performance

This is completely random but my charging cable just got torn and is unusable. Not having any spare left me with a problem. Just thought to myself what are the odds of the wireless charger for my toothbrush being compatible with my phone :?
Holy crap it actually works!

Who only has one charging cable?

Had to reset an iPhone 5C to factory settings last night for my stepson. Crikey, I remember the 5 seeming a nice big screen after the 4; how far we have come! Even the screen icons were tiny. Quite a nice sized thing compared to my XS though, makes the XS look like a Max 😄

I got the 11 pro yesterday. Excellent camera, functions adequately as a phone. Even came with a charge cable in the box but I haven’t removed it as I have at least 2 in every room already. It’s a mini phone adventure.

The 11 pro charger is mega quick, over 50% charge in 30 minutes is very handy.

I’m trying to get an 11 Pro but Apple are quoting delivery times of 2-4 weeks away. Take my money FFS.

Ok I am seriously impressed at the new ‘AI’ low light photo mode that has just released

I would expect to use a 5sec+ exp on an SLR to get shots like this

There are some very clever technologies out there now.

For a while, the Pixel phones have had this "Night Sight" mode that takes a long exposure, using the phone's giros etc to compensate for hand movement etc.

You get to watch it draw a circle on the screen during the length of the exposure.

I've found myself using it in relatively well lit places (i.e. ones that you'd not really consider to be "low light"), just because it sometimes gets better results than a "normal" photo.

I upgraded to an 11 Pro 64GB last week, from a 7.

It feels too big, probably get used to it.
Face ID is really impressive, works in the dark, but not sure it's functionally any better than fingerprint.
Screen - lovely
Battery life is a huge plus. 100% at half seven in the morning, average use (web, music, texting) during the day, and it's only down to 70% at midnight.

Predictive text has gone to shit but that looks to be covered byt Mito's thread in Moaning.
