That Ducati looks the business 8-)

Might be a stupid question, but where the best place to get a deal on a new Defender kit to help with the lockdown craziness?
Cheers,

Mike.

The fact they have it in stock is a start, but Smyths have been good for me. Costco list it for less but no stock.

The Ducati looks epic, clearly recognisable for what it is yet also clearly Lego.

Thanks Jobbo, I managed to miss that by being outside all day! WTAF is going on with the eBay listings - do they not know you can still buy these for list price?
Cheers,

Mike.

The Lego Defender is often discounted to £130 or less, so it’s only this lockdown which seems to be pushing it back to RRP. If you wait, probably not long, you’ll find somewhere selling cheaper again. I got it for about £124 delivered within 2 days from Amazon.de (as a gift, sadly - I want it for me too!)

That Ducati looks great and as my 4 year old likes bikes it might be an excuse to buy him (me) it. Never done any Lego Technic stuff at all.

Holy cow!

From the LEGO Technic Facebook:

Yesterday at 00:48 · Members of LEGO Technic.
My first completed work this year; a Lancia 037 from the official Lancia Martini rally team. Once more I have built this out of genuine Lego in 1:11 scale.
My Lego model is based on the 1985 Monte Carlo rally entry by Henri Toivonen. It is scaled 1:11, and has around 1800 bricks. It is fully functional with detailed suspension, opening doors and hood/bonnet. Every aspect of the car is recreated in detail. It is also a “scratchbuilt”, and one-off. There are no instructions available for this model.
The stickers are once more a great cooperation with my buddy JaapTechnic, and are about as big an effort as building the car.

My second post today 🙂
Over the last year I built two Lancia rally cars as detailed scale models out of genuine Lego in scale 1:11, so it would be only fitting to add a service van to it. The combination is finished now. The pictures show the Martini Lancia Team Fiat Ducato service van with car trailer to it; the Delta Integrale Evo from Didier Auriol (Corsica 1992), and the, also freshly built, Lancia 037 from Henri Toivonen (Monte Carlo 1985).
All models are fully functional and detailed, and combined are composed from roughly 8500 Lego pieces ad hundreds of custom stickers, including tooling and spareparts inside the service van.
It took about 10 months to design and built this all together. The stickers were a big job, in cooperation with my buddy Jaap from: www.jaaptechnic.com. (sorry no instructions availlable)

The Evo forum really is a shadow of its former self. I remember when the internet was for the elite and now they seem to let any spastic on

That would be absurd money from Lego but fuck, it’s beautiful.

I remember the Delta but the 037 is even better I think.

Those Lancia's are 8-) temptation to rebuild the GT3 as a Stratos moc increasing...

My knock-off Hogwarts finally arrived last week after sitting in the US for three weeks waiting for a plane.

Family is having great fun putting it together and appropriately enough for an extended lockdown project the bags aren't numbered so it takes quite an effort to hunt pieces down
