Toasters
Re: Toasters
Our Dualit does - dial above the timer for 1 slice, 2 slice, or bagel.
Re: Toasters
Yes but... convenience.
In the end, toasted Bap ( ) on both sides was pretty nice actually. With Nando's Chilli Jam on the Salad at the bottom and Perrinaise Hot Sauce on top.
Re: Toasters
I don't think the original Dualits do. I have always been suspicious that any other Dualit branded toaster is just a rebadged generic toaster; is that the case? Their kettles certainly seem to be. This may sound picky but the original toasters are hand made in Britain and I doubt any of the rest of their range is.

It’s a “proper” dualit (and mine predates the silly “this thing is hot” warning).
I think Lite, Architect and the rest are made in China.

I dont think I want to wait 3 weeks for a custom one
Re: Toasters
Rich is correct about buying to match your kitchen.
All my appliances are Sage (Breville) and the long slot otaster has the awesome "A BIT MORE" button and "LIFT & LOOK" for when you need to... well, cook it a bit more, or take a look.
You can watch Phil from Breville demonstrate these game-changing features.

Re: Toasters
I buy the cheapest toasters I can find, and throw them away when the break
Re: Toasters
Given how endlessly nerdy this place is, I'm amazed no one has brought up the Sunbeam Radiant Control Toaster.
I realise some people might not like his delivery, but he goes into the engineering and patents behind how the toaster works, which I think would be worth putting up with him for a solid 75% of you, as it's genuinely 1950s sci fi cool.

I like him. Been following his channel for a while. His vids of heat pumps are definitely worth a watch.

I'm in the buy cheap camp. They're all variations of being shit at actually doing toast anyway so why pay lots? And who cares if they match?

You may be unsurprised to know I follow him and endorse that video too.Beany wrote: ↑Sat Dec 11, 2021 8:13 pm Given how endlessly nerdy this place is, I'm amazed no one has brought up the Sunbeam Radiant Control Toaster.

Re: Toasters
Really, is it standard these days? This is literally the second toaster that I've ever bought and I was super proud of it when I got it, sometime around 2015Swervin_Mervin wrote: ↑Sun Dec 12, 2021 1:09 am
