XBox Series S
Re: XBox Series S
That's fair enough tbh. I rarely buy games new so it doesn't really affect me, I find the sales on the online store to be pretty decent.
With EA Play joining gamepass soon, I can really see the subscription model exploding next gen.

Re: XBox Series S
Just to answer this, it's £21/month - it includes the console (S), two years of Ultimate access as well and you keep the console at the end.
If you want the daddy X, it's £29/month.
It's a brilliant tactic from MS - as mentioned, people are incredibly financially short-sighted, the idea they can get an XBox, with tons of games for far less than they pay for a mobile?
TBH I'm considering it myself, and I haven't bought a console since the XBox 360 was first launched

Re: XBox Series S
The article makes a good point, who buys gamepass at Xbox prices?
I buy it every 6 months from eBay for £25

How about not having a sig at all?
Re: XBox Series S
Lots of parents. And I mean *lots* - don't forget, most parents arent aware of eBay, CDKeys and the like - and if they are they probabably don't trust them or want the hassle. They just renew direct with MS or buy the cards in stores.
Re: XBox Series S
TBH I have mines on a monthly sub through the store cause I only initially signed up for the trial and I keep forgetting to change it
I wouldn’t sign up for a sub service for the console though. Would rather just buy it.

Re: XBox Series S
I just went for an X via the Microsoft online store, so that gives me 6 weeks to find a 4K tv....

Interesting opening to a pre-release review from The Verge....
Full article is here https://www.theverge.com/2020/10/15/215 ... erformanceII haven’t been using my Xbox One as much recently, as it just feels outdated. As someone who plays primarily on PC, the lower frame rates and input lag on current-generation consoles are enough to put me off playing a lot of games on an Xbox One or PS4. That was until I started playing games on the Xbox Series X three weeks ago.
Microsoft’s next-gen Xbox comes the closest I’ve ever witnessed to re-creating the superior PC experience of playing games, thanks to SSD storage, a far more powerful CPU, 120Hz support, and impressive backward compatibility features that improve existing games. This is all inside a $499 box that’s quieter and far easier to use and maintain than the $3,000 gaming PC I built a few weeks ago.
Cheers,
Mike.
