Saw it passing by a few times today. Looks like it's heading back to France now

A few weeks ago when we had the good weather I happened to check a flight tracker website while in bed at 6:30am and noticed a hot air balloon flying past my area of East London 8-)

Used to see loads of hot air balloons when I was younger. Shame they’ve gone out of fashion, they really were an awesome sight when there was a bunch on the horizon.

I wasn't expecting a flight path like that!
I'm glad someone else got to see it 8-)
Random balloon spot is excellent, random spots are better than planned ones. If I hadn't happened to look out the window when I did I would have been completely unaware of the airship and missed it. It's not like the noise would alert you to one.
I used to have to go down the M20 coastbound in the morning to work and would see hot air balloons going up from Leeds Castle. Sometimes it was good to see, other times it reminded you what you were missing that day (see also; people heading off to the ferries, groups clearly heading to the 'ring, or club groups of TVRs/Morgans/and the like).
A bit annoyed I was near Folkestone this afternoon around 6 and didn't think to check where the airship was  :(

Just had a Spitfire barrel rolling and the like so went onto fr to try and find it and saw the airship has been back again today. Looks like I chose the wrong day yesterday to go down to the coast...https://www.flightradar24.com/DLZFN/283f5930

The Spitfires fly almost everyday from Spring until Autumn if the weather is good enough.

Yep, it feels weird to be used to hearing them. Most fly level so it's always a good day when they do more 8-)
I'm trying to tune in to Merlin or Griffon ( viewtopic.php?f=3&t=11046 ), was hoping to get its info from fr so I knew which I'd just listened to.

Did it not show up on Flightradar then? I also use this one which shows things such as police / military aircraft that don't appear on Flightradar https://globe.adsbexchange.com/

That's what I use too - and I saw recently that clicking on the U removes everything except the military aircraft.
