Brexiteer buggers

Post by V8Granite »

No idea if this is connected but I’m travelling to Istanbul then onto Dhaka. They spent a while looking at my Visa information as I get a Visa on arrival in Dhaka but anyone ending their trip in Istanbul has to fill out Visa paperwork.

Helpful people on the desks and people helping at the departure gate so it’s all under control.

I haven’t seen anything about needing a Turkish Visa before though but I’ve not followed the news For a few weeks.

They will never take our freedom etc etc ;)

Bangladesh obviously not but as I’ve been travelling through Turkey for the last 9 years it’s very odd to have so much hullabaloo on Visas.

I got stung with a visa request entering Istanbul about 18m ago, so it’s not new. Panicked a bit but then realised they just want to sting you for cash. Wonkers.

I came through 8 weeks ago and nothing was needed or asked for anywhere.

Turkey and the EU have a customs union agreement. The EU has just applied sanctions on Turkey due to their bombing of Syria. There’s probably a few tensions there.
