I know we're anti-sports on here but is it just me glued to this?

Balmer?

Archer is a weapons arsenal! Six-fer ftw today.

He really bowled a mid-leg googly over the maiden on a soft wicket, didn’t he?

This is not the thread you're looking for.

Hey come on, I stay out of the F1 thread! (to the best of my abilities).

Where do you lot find the time to follow sports? I can't even keep up with Moto GP or WRC and I record most of them. 😣

Test match cricket is fucking awesome! Archer is terrifying by the way  . Effortless speed and his bouncers are frightening. Would I go down the other end??? I'd rather go through the SD youtube back catalogue

Don't you go to jail or something if you're unemployed for too long out there?

No, essentially 😂 Anyway I'm self-employed, own trade license, own visa etc.

So - the Ashes.

I've not been glued, but I've been keeping an eye on it.

Smith has pretty much single-handedly carried the Aussies so far, and without him they'll really struggle. He's unbelievably lucky to even be walking, and an idiot not to be wearing a neck guard after what happened to Hughes.

How much I follow cricket - when I saw "Ashes" my first thought was cremations. :?

Is this not following the normal pattern of England going in as firm favourites then getting pasted then? I am sure they always won at the first ground (Edgbaston?) and still lost.

Been watching it between rain showers

Weather is gorgeous here in Yorks today so hopefully they get a big score.

I remember being in Boston on business in 1998 when the World Cup was on. Although I wasn't interested, a colleague I was travelling with was. We managed to get away early one day to catch a game, and I was dragged to a Sports Bar. There were something like 76 TV screens, but none had the World Cup on them.

My mate asked the bar-man if he could find the appropriate channel, and made a flipant comment about the fact they seemed to be showing at least 3 baseball games. Bloke beside us at the bar grumped quite aggressively at us both "at least Baseball is better than Cricket". I turned to him and advised "Cricket is for fucking wankers mate". He didn't speak again. I then half-watched most of a kick-ball game. It was underwhelming.

Those who don't like cricket should not feel in any way obliged to post in this thread.
