Tool Chests

Post by Hates_ »

Any tool chest recommendations? I keep looking at the Halfords Advanced ones when they come up on sale but have no idea if there is better for less. Their advanced range seem a lot better than the standard range, but I do keep seeing ads for chests that are sub £200.

I got mine from SGS, they are US Pro ones re-branded I think and I’m really pleased with them.

I've got Halfords industrial, no complaints so far. Sturdy, roller drawers, rubber liners included. They come up on sale every so often.

Halfords professional here, they have a lifetime guarantee. I also get trade discount in there and if you know a friend who also gets that...

Halfords professional here too. Have a look on Facebook selling pages and you’ll pick up a used one for very little, I got both top and bottom cabinets and 6 modular trays of tools for around £150.

I have an "American Pro" chest that looks pretty much identical to this one.

I just keep most of my tool on cheap plastic shelving though....

Whereas mine are strewn about the garage and generally stored in buckets.

There's the spanner bucket, the screwdriver bucket, the drill bits bucket..

It's attached to the back of a shelf unit - he can't really use it but no one knows it's there... except SJ... ;)

Another who is happy with the Halfords boxes here.

Although I don't use mine that often because it's at the back of the shed and there's so much stuff piled in front of it it's a mission to get at 😂

At risk of going slightly o/t, if any of you don't have ratchet spanners yet, get some. They're brill.

If you have some of the Halfords socket sets you can take the pin out the hinge and put them in the Halfords tool chest drawers. Really cool.
